I know you’re just fishing for and-1s, but given their injuries this isn’t particularly surprising or noteworthy.

Weren’t they like the 3rd seed before Durant went down?

Funny thing is that the Nets were still favored to win the East even a few days ago lol.

But that's the whole point.

When your whole strategy is running into the ground in both O and D for 40 minutes a 33 year old player with injury history, of course he will miss games eventually either from injury or exhaustion. What? do they think that all other teams are stupid for playing their stars reasonable minutes and resting them occasionally?

What is BKN's back up plan when KD is not there to at least remain decent and beat some bad teams? Sweet **** all.
All they do is press the "Play KD 40 minutes" button, and in the playoffs the "Play KD 48 minutes". And it's not like they don't have players to build something else, but for some reason they have decided that coaching and schemes don't matter.

And when something very predictably goes wrong, it is somehow the Universe's fault. And the only way for things to be fair is to stop playing games and wait for the Nets to he fully healthy, which they never are 2 years now.

I feel sorry for KD, last year he played all 53 minutes in G7 trying to pull the Nets out of the lurch, in OT he literally couldn't lift his arms to shoot properly any more. Dude is a hero.

But I don't feel sorry for the Nets, they did this to themselves by skipping some pretty basic basketball chapters like "The importance of coaching" and "Managing players workload".

The players have to be willing to be coached. KD and Kyrie are just looking for a 'yes man' coach basically.

An opportunity via Play-in isn’t the worst thing. I’d rather see them have an opportunity versus decades of foggy excuses for missing the playoffs.

Let them get beat the normal way.

Υeah that's fine, I don't think KD needs to be coached personally. What he needs is a team with schemes that keep them rolling semi-decently when he's out, and a team that doesn't expect him to guard Antetokounmpo or be the main defensive anchor in big games while also taking all the tough shots at the other end.

As for Kyrie I'm not even gonna go there, the guy is basically an extra terrestrial to me. No idea how his brain works.

Well they are supposed to have Kyrie for the last shot part and Harden for the team rolling when he's not there. But something, something vaccine mandate and a Harden trade.

The defense part is what it is. He might have to suck it up like Giannis does right now or LeBron did for a number of years basically being the best defender on his teams.

I think it's too much for him. And they have enough bodies to cover him so he doesn't have to take all those elbows and falls to the floor, but they don't seem interested in being smarter like that. You watch the games and it's obvious their D has not been worked on, they don't talk and their switches don't make sense.

The Lakers will be lucky at this point to even make the play in. They are a game back of the Spurs and still have the Suns, Warriors and Nuggets.

Though the Spurs have the Warriors, Mavs, Nuggets and Wolves.

They split their season series...luckily winning one of their games in OT while the Spurs crushed them by 28 in another one.
