Playoffs - R1 - G2 - Mavs vs Jazz (Mond. 8:30PM EST)

Post#1 » by Dirk » Sun Apr 17, 2022 10:27 am

Here we go again.

Brunson/Dinwiddie take II.

“I’ve prided myself on being efficient and consistent my entire life,” Brunson said afterward, clearly disappointed with his performance.

"Think about it: We lost by six, I missed six free throws. We're right there. If anything, this should be encouraging for our fan base in my opinion," Dinwiddie said. "Give them credit. They went out there and won the game. ... With them having their two best scorers both go for 30 basically and still hold them under 100, overall I think there's a lot of room for optimism."

Truthfully, I’m hoping to sit him till next season. We know what Luka can do in the playoffs already. Let’s these dudes play and we see who is of value and who isn’t and make major moves in the offseason if possible. We need to get to a point where We aren’t so dependent on Luka.

I think he can play game 3.

Tomorrow i want to see a team in war, fighting on every possession and every 50/50 ball.
Play hard and take the W. No excuses.

Same. I feel like Powell, DFS, and Dinwiddie will do that, not sure about the others

It's basically game 7 for Mavs.

It really stinks to feel like you're such at a disadvantage. Makes it hard to enjoy the playoffs.

I'd like to see Trey Burke getting some burn. I still have memories from the bubble.

It will sound wild because Mavs lack scoring but if they would could somehow contain Bojan, Jazz would also not score a lot of points.

My crazy theory is, if Kidd starts Bertans and puts him on Bojan, Mavs could play 4 big guys which Jazz wouldn't be able to exploit that easily. Brunson has been horrible against Bojan and this is where Luka would come into play aswell. Jazz can't hunt for missmatch other than Mitchell on Luka but they can just double team Mitchell and render him useless since he has no clue how to pass the ball.

There are still a lot of adjustments that Kidd can make but i'm not sure he will deviate from his usual formula by just going 5 small with Bertans or Maxi at center spot. And i'm scared of this scenario because Utah will be more prepared this time and will probably feed Gobert way more with Mavs smaller lineups.

I'm ok with Bertans on Bojan for sure, i don't know if it's works but just a try... Him or maybe Chriss.

We can't win with Brunson on Bojan. Impossible.

Still doesn't look that good. But on the other hand he always walks like he's injured lol.

No need to risk him now, we have a lot of days before G3.
Our guys will fight G2 and we can win without Luka.

Anyway 0-2 and Luka healthy is not so bad

Horrendous start for Dinwiddie so far. 0-2 and 2 TOs.

Amazing start so far for Brunson though. 11 straight points.

What a start. I swear if this team can find a big guy that can protect the rim and grab rebounds, this team could go really far in the playoffs next year.
