We need this guy.

Granted Philly lost the game in that video, but I think it demonstrated his ability to play C without Embiid available. It's probably the role he will play with us going forward, especially if Drummond or Claxton are not retained.

I would not want Ben Simmons as our primary C.... no lol.... that's just encouraging small ball nonsense...

I don't know if it'll be his primary role, but he'll see a lot of time there.

I also don't consider a frontcourt of 6'11" Simmons and 6'12" KD small. Simmons is bigger than Claxton.

If primarily, Ben at C is no different length wise with Claxton in there....

Again, talking primarily, I would want Ben with KD on the 3/4 spots... of course some mins at the 5 is gonna happen.

just tells you so much about us.

Only lost by a point at Boston, and KD will supposedly be very hungry in Game 2, so looks like Boston are in more trouble than us.... Also I think the Kyrie Irving situation (him being possessed by the dark side) makes it almost impossible for Boston to win this series, because there is a good chance Kyrie will have a huge series.... so Boston are banking on KD struggling throughout the series (unlikely).

If we go with Ben & KD at the 3/4, then we probably need to find a rangier C. I don't think we want a lane clogger, especially with teams likely already sagging off of Simmons and/or Brown. The ideal would be another big wing or PF type similar to Bobby Portis.

Game 3 seems like a go. If we can steal game 2, having Ben debut in game 3 will have Barclays like a mad house

I think Game 3 is definitely in play.
Mon: Contact 4v4
Tuesday: Walkthroughs
Wednesday: Game 2 shoot around
Thursday: Travel and/or Contact 4v4
Friday: Contact 4v4 and/or Walkthroughs

Thursday-Friday will likely have the last high intensity practice of the series. After that, the games are every other day. There's no reason not to give him some time in game 3 if he's not sore. Even if it is just a couple 5 minute stints to see how he responds.

I think it would depend on matchups. He could play C against a guy like Horford, but it wouldn't work against Embiid. The Raptors are playing small ball guys against Embiid and all they can do is double team team him every possession, or on one one coverage they foul him to slow him down. Whereas with Gasol in 2019 he slowed Embiid down much better.

Also vs. the 2019 Raptors, Embiid averaged 17.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and shot only 37% from the field, in the most important series of his life....

If he can play Game 4 why can’t he play Game 3?

What’s the point of playing him now?

It’s the only way Nash can adjust a game plan. I hope Ben grabs him by his shirt while he’s doing those stupid tiktok videos and demands him to start tomorrow.

I don’t care what’s the point. Get somebody out there to save this team from getting swept. At least, if we play him and lose we have something to work with going into the offseason to build on and around.

It’s hard to build a roster around Simmons, KD and Kyrie when none of them have ever played one game together to build on.

We’re just hoping for a spark and it may work for a few minutes but Udoka seems to adjust pretty quickly so I don’t know. In the future we need a specific type of big next to Ben, a Brook Lopez type who can space the floor. Drummond and Claxton wouldn’t work next to Ben unless he becomes a good or at least a passable shooter over night.

Robert Williams came back from a meniscus repair. Ben should have been playing last night
