So very bad.

Jesus.

Edit: The whole thing was a mess, but I kinda liked the ending. Which puts me squarely in the minority yet again.

I think a lot of times with these kinds of shows they feel they have to give every character "an ending" or people will be like "Well what happened with Whatshisface? He's still in prison" or whatever. It's incredibly hard to do and I wish they'd think outside the box and just leave stuff unresolved. Sopranos did that and everyone filled their diapers but who cares. Seems like the only show outside of sitcoms that had a finale everyone thought was pretty legendary was Breaking Bad.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

The Sopranos was easily my favorite ending of any memorable TV series.

Tony's dead. The show is over without him. Perfect, in my opinion.

I skipped around most of the last season of Ozark when I started falling asleep and not caring. Ending seemed bad.

Breaking Bad had the best ending/final season ever imo. I'm behind on Better Call Saul, but man that show was amazing from what i watched (I think season 3?)

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

My Dad is a real one and had listened to 'Baby Blue' by Badfinger on his hike the morning of the BB finale. Gilligan had to have had that song picked to lead it out the second he decided on blue meth.

Man what an ending. One of the best villains in history

Give me the ending to Angel. End of the world. "I wish to do more violence" and "Personally, I wanna slay the dragon". Cut to black.

Cliche, but Six Feet Under ending is still the gold standard for me.

Loved every second of Severance and wish there was more. Outer Range is pretty good imo, although I thought 5 & 6 could have advanced the plot a bit more.

I thought of that one too when I was posting about the Sopranos.

Best series finale.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I thought Mr. Robot did a great job sticking the landing but it's true lots of shows fall on their face with the fanale.

Just rewatched the entirety of Seinfeld including the finale. It was worse than I remember.

Oh man, that's a crazy time suck for a show I'm not sure holds up all that well

Wasn’t a fan of the last season or two of Breaking Bad to be honest. It just seemed so far outside of reality at that point.

I thought the VEEP ending was pretty perfect. Highlights how terrible of a person she was while giving nods to the side characters along the way.

It was the very first song I heard in the lobby at work the morning after watching the finale. It was pretty weird.

Definitely doesn’t hold up well, which is not to say it wasn’t excellent or dynamic at the time of its original airing.

As I think as to why such a beloved show is often difficult to watch, maybe its some combination of: outdated fashion, so many of its famous jokes became cliche, the characters are intentionally unlikable, and “Curbed” sort of showed us how the sausage is made.

Oh wow, I disagree completely. I think it's held up incredibly well - most episodes are still super relatable and funny. A few times a cell phone would have ended the episode immediately, sometimes a joke is now considered played out but you recognize it wasn't back then, and very few times it's like eeesh, can't do that anymore, but even then it's not to the level of being offensive beyond the point of, yeah these characters are ****.

I'll watch one every once in a while still. Maybe one every other week.

I agree with MK. I think it holds up great, other than the technology.
