So no, they can be inflated.

Which ones? And why? And why from bigs?

Keep telling yourself that. Advanced stats are becoming more and more relevant as time goes on

People will look back at this mvp race as a tight one that could’ve went multiple ways.

If you are going to vote on a league MVP it should include the playoffs.

Jokic is sitting at home.

It should be a factor.

The hilarious part of all this is that Embiid’s current GM was a huge proponent of advanced stats

You know what was relevant when it came to winning in the playoffs? Defense. He couldn't stay in front of anyone on the warriors.

That doesn't bode well for your favourite player.

Should it also be a factor if the team to beat you in the playoffs wins the championship? No shame in losing to one of the two best teams in the league.

Or is he expected to beat the best team in the league (assuming Warriors win it all, as they are currently the favorites) single handedly? Just curious :)

Could be worse - could be getting burned on the perimeter by Achiuwa and OG instead of Curry and Poole, or letting 6’7 Butler bully him in the post I guess.

The thing that sealed it for me is that Jokic won more games than Embiid this year. Embiid’s team won more games because the 76ers won games when Embiid was out.

Shhh don’t tell them the facts. They only want the fabricated stats from Sixers blog posts

Both the substance (Jokic winning MVP) and the content (the usual suspects super bunched up) of this thread are 100% predictable and yet somehow at the same time immensely satisfying.

I think the voters should wait until the playoffs are over and then vote and include what they want from the playoffs.

And it should remain separate from finals MVP.

Wouldn’t some define great stats on a team that flames out in the first round of the playoffs as “garbage stats”?

At least they got to the 2nd round last year even if they then got swept.

Congrats to Jokic, he had a spectacular season. Felt it could have gone either way between Jokic and Joel, the two were just amazing.

I think we can all agree that a couple more regular season wins is far more important than any post season success. /green font
