I’d love for IQ to start but………………!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting rid of Fournier would make room for Cam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm kinda leaning towards going after Tyus Jones from Memphis. I think he'd be perfect to bring in and could play him at PG with IQ and could play them together switching IQ to SG. Shouldn't be all that expensive either and is young.

Yes! I can't wait for October to come around so we can get back Randle/RJ/Fournier/Noel/DRose (probably not though, because he'll be injured). And then all of our superstar youth will be one year older, and we might win 38 games. Seriously can't wait! You're right, who wants 25 year really good players who have their whole careers ahead of them. They're just midgets and are not as good as IQ/RJ. You nailed it!

You get good players FIRST, and worry about roster fit later. Not the other way around.

Now it's Rokas

Yea, i keep forgetting about Rokas.

Every other option is likely going to cost too much or we won't get anyway. We made our bed by wasting cap space last year. At this point might as well see what we have with IQ, Rokas. Deuce with Rose as the vet

They dodged a bullet by not having cap space to spend on these guys this offseason. Neither is worth it.

We sure did dodge a bullet! We spent it all last year on Fournier, Noel, Kemba, DRose and Burks so we can't sign or trade for really good 25 year players that are light years better than that group of crap. Good call man, again!

Wouldn't Rokas be a great option to backup IQ? He's done nothing but shine, will be a cheap contract and was drafted by us. Am curious why you think thats foolish.

We already have a lot of backup PGs on the roster: Rose, IQ, and Deuce. We also have a lot of backup SGs: Grimes, Burks, and Evan.

Ty Jones.

So, people are clamoring for the mediocre vet to take minutes away from IQ, eh?

I mean, I see that being said about Brunson, but if the Knick pay Ty Jones 15 million a year, it's going to be so he plays 10 mpg while IQ starts. Right.

Either people want IQ to start/get major minutes, or they don't.
Because ANY guard the Knicks bring will cut into his minutes.

I think people are still stuck in the past when the Knicks only signed FA's who were at the end of their peak/beginning their decline. It was a Knick specialty.

Then they modified by getting vet scrubs on short term deals, or "2nd draft" guys like Mudiay who are busts.

So fans assume that a guy who is 25 years old and getting better must be one of those things.

It's a fun debate, Knicks aren't getting Mitchell or Brunson anyway.

It's all about what the FO/HC will do. I didn't watch the last bunch of games so I didn't see how well IQ played. Up to the last games I watched..he was a 6th man type player. I never really saw him as a starting PG.

You make it work until D.Rose gets hurt which he will get hurt unfortunately. He doesn't want to play a lot of minutes anyway and IQ and Tyus compete for the starting job. As we know IQ can play both G spots anyway.

If we can get Tyus on a good deal then we can't pass up taking a shot on this kid and seeing if he's the real deal because someone is going to sign this kid after how he played in place of Morant this season especially in the playoffs.

Rokas isn't even ready to come over right now. He said it in that article that he won't come over until he's ready and he knows he's going to play.

Well, I hear a lot of "I don't want him"... I'm still waiting for someone to name a couple of PGs that might be available for us to upgrade.

Upgrade to what? The 11th overall pick to the 13th pick?

Why spend money on expensive veteran FAs when your roster is barely competitive for the Play-In and nowhere near competing for a championship?

In the very high likelihood we’re still bad next year, you’ll have yet another longterm expensive contract on the books.

Then what? What about the year after that?

Personally if I’m GM my #1 priority is to take Burks away from Thibs. Force him to start IQ with the only backup plan D. Rose (for the 40 games he’s healthy) + Deuce. But they’re probably not on that wavelength and will keep on being super Knicksy by adding longterm veteran contracts to bad teams in the delusional hope that it will magically unlock MSG as a FA destination for hypothetical A-list FAs who may or may not come available over the next few years.

Signing Brunson would be exactly the same as the THJ contract and the (first) Randle contract. Spending money for money’s sake instead of just focusing on internal development and longterm asset management. The purpose of Brunson wouldn’t be to win. It would be to sell the media and season ticket holders on the lie that the Knicks are back.
"Sell the team. Sell the team. Sell the team."

Because a few of you guys are suggesting it's better to go with our 2nd round pick who doesn't have any NBA experience over a YOUNG proven star in the league.

Brunson better than any Knick guard is currently or ever will be. I'd bet he's better than any guard the Knicks draft in the next 5 years too.
