" Dyson Daniels (Top 100: No. 6)
Daniels continued his rapid ascent with an impressive showing at the Octagon Pro Day, where he displayed impressive shot-making prowess. Decision-makers from virtually every team in the NBA lottery were on hand to watch what appeared to be, in my view, the most eye-opening workout of the week in Chicago. NBA teams were buzzing afterward about Daniels' talent, throwing out comparisons to the likes of Tyrese Haliburton and Khris Middleton.
Daniels, an alumnus of the NBA Global Academy and G League Ignite program, has grown considerably in the past few years, adding 3 inches and 30 pounds of bulk. Even so, he appears nowhere close to reaching his physical potential with an outstanding frame and near 7-foot wingspan. The knowledge that Daniels has guard skills, with measurements that should allow him to moonlight at power forward as his frame fills out over time, is intriguing in today's NBA. The way teams rave about Daniels' interviews at the combine and the background intel they have received is clearly working in his favor. There's a real comfort level with what seems to be an extremely high floor for Daniels as a prospect, while the thought process regarding his ultimate ceiling appears to be evolving daily. -- Givony"
If we stay put this is my guy. Day 1 he's elite as defender and playmaker among SFs in the league.
He an even play Point Forward allowing Portland to play Hart and Keon at the same time.
Same. I think he can be Batum with a better motor and less penchant for disappearing.
Realistically, if we keep all our picks I am hoping for:
7 - Dyson Daniels GF (6'7.5,195lbs, 6'10.5 WS, 19 YO)
36 - Gabriel Procida GF (6'7.75, 193lbs, 6'8 WS, 20 YO)
59 - Karlo Matkovic C (6'10, NA, NA, 21 YO)
I have Daniels rated 7th, Procida around 18 (No clue why he isnt getting chatter at least around the 20's, think he goes Top-25 in the end) and think Karlo is a late riser (Same team as Jovic, older at 21, great athleticism for his size, showing a 3PT shot in workouts, excellent motor for a big, think Theis / Kleber as a 3/D but also a lob threat)
My overall ideal offseason would be to make the above picks, trade Bledsoe + Winslow for Hayward and then move TPE + MIL25 for Grant. Give McGee the BAE for a year.
G - Damian Lillard / Anfernee Simons / Keon Johnson
G - Anfernee Simons / Josh Hart / Gabriel Procida
F - Gordon Hayward / Nas Little / Dyson Daniels
F - Jerami Grant / Gordon Hayward / Greg Brown
C - Jusuf Nurkic / JaVale McGee / Trendon Watford
Overseas - Karlo Matkovic C
Realistically, I think Dyson and Procida are gone by 7 + 36, that CHA wont salary dump Gordon and that DET would demand more than the MIL FRP for Grant. Think we end up w/ AJ Griffin and some trash band aid MLE signing before running it back for no meaningful results.
