He has shown signs of being a capable three point shooter (in the G League and the beginning of the season). He needs to work on his shot no doubt. Even in the G League he only shot 55% from the free throw line, but we are not talking about Ben Simmons here. He has shown he is prepared to keep taking them until he makes them.

Whenever Masai talks about developing a bench internally I think he is referring to Dalano.

the stats i see are even higher

25.7 pts 9.1 reb 5.7 ast 1.4 stl .520 fg% .42 3pt% (4.5 att/game)

Even better! I was checking the G League page which it appears wasn't updated after game 7.

It’s wild how deep bench NBA guys just dominate the G League. 26/9/6 on 58TS is insane lol

so i found the discrepancy (bbal reference shows regularseason + showcase games combined/gleauge website separated the games)
he played 7 regular seasons games with 905, 4 showcase games with 905, and 2 playoff games.

so intotal he played 13 games

He's been in the gym via IG

Do people think gets a bigger role next season? He'll be 23 at the start of the season

I think he takes a Precious leap next year.

As a ballhandler, defender, he was solid as a rookie, he just couldn't hit shots. If he can get a functional jumper, he's a rotation player.

Hopefully he is in rotation next year. Nurse went to him kinda early and said he should've went to him even earlier. He brings a pace and energy to our rotation that only few can.

The age thing isn't really a big concern for me, 23 is still young. 4yrs away from 27, 6yrs away from being 29, he has time. Really one of my fav players on the team tho.

Someone needs to make a szn mix for him, I can't find one on youtube and bascially everyone gets a szn long mixtape

Every time I see Banton on the floor, I feel like he does good things in pushing the pace and making defensive plays or just being a pest and playing with energy. Then I go look at the box score, and he produced nothing.

There was a point in the season this year that Nurse said he couldn't afford to cut his minutes because he was being so productive. Production isn't the issue, it's consistency. He would look so great one game, then nothing the next. Big guards that can defend and handle the ball like he does will find a place in the league. Really hoping he makes the next step.

What I remember was, he played well with Scottie, because Scottie would let him initiate the offense. He looked stagnated playing with Pascal because Pascal was handling the ball while sharing the court with Banton.

He needs to become a better shooter so he can still contribute while playing off the ball, but the team also should give him more responsibility initiate things, his length to see over the defense, along with a deceptive first steps gives him a chance to be an above avg facilitator

Why not all three.

I have really high hopes for Banton. He could be so good.

I feel like they're going to give Banton every opportunity to succeed. Even if he tops out at a 9-10 guy he'll be a success at pick 45.

Really good feel for the game and ball IQ. He needs to get into grind mode and work. I can’t say for sure but doesn’t seem like he’s going 100 percent on and off the court. Has the tools to cover those speedy guards that Gary and Fred had trouble with. May end up being a nice surprise contributor next season

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.
