Anyone find odds for where OG will start the season next season? That will be another sign

Portland media is ready to throw some assets around for OG. I am on the keep him side of things, but it is interesting to see what is being talked about.
This guy is suggesting that #7,#36, TPE and Keon Johnson (Put up 10/3/3/1 for them in 20 games as a rookie) is a reasonable offer. Definitely intriguing. A little too prospect heavy for me. If it was Hart, I would have to really think about it. Hart has had a positive VORP and DPM since entering the league. Hart is not as good as OG, but if Dyson Daniels is on the board at 7 plus another early second, that seems like a deal that works long and short term for us.
Raps were supposedly high on Keon Johnson last year

Also - us interviewing Dyson and Mathurin makes sense now. The trade proposal by portland ignited Toronto to do their homework on those guys.

Hart + 7 + Nas Little
1 of 2
Keon Johnson/future pick
They are overpaying but that's what it will take. They have no leverage. Blazers fans/media don't realize Masai will trade Trent/FVV before OG's dissatisfaction actually materializes.
Anyways, I think this is just smoke. They are more likely to trade Dame then sell the farm for someone like OG Anunoby. Ownership has to sell. You don't deplete your assets before a sale. It would never happen. Which makes all this noise really strange.

This trade makes a lot of sense for Raptors. Id even do it for Hart+7+Simons.
7 has a ton of potential in this draft Murray/Mathurin/Sharpe all could be studs

Blazers wouldn't trade Simons. They view Simons as a future star.

Simons is a free agent anyways and is going to get 20M himself.

Keon Johnson + 7 + Hart + Another first
That must be the godfather ask for OG. I loved the idea of Keon Johnson when we were picking from around 8. Explosive like a young Demar

Raps don't need or want Portland's 20 mill TPE, unless there's another player out there we can snag from a tax team looking to cut salary. The more I think of it, the more I realize Nurkic S&T + #7 for OG has to be the play. Ideally, the Raps figure out a way for Birch to go out in the deal.

Birch maybe included in the trade
Nurkic, Keon, hart plus one more frp may come back
It make sense, because Dame, Simon's, and og is a good nucleus to build around

Nas Little has to be included for me along with the 7. He fits what we're doing to a T. 6'7" with a 7'2" wingspan. If you haven't watched his games, he's good. Took a big step this season.
If they want to keep Hart and throw us the TPE, fine. I do like Hart as a rotation piece though. I'm against Nurk as I prefer to just use the MLE for our center.

#7, Keon Johnson, Nasir Little and Josh Hart for OG and Birch.
Portland will have to pay for OG if we decide to move him.

It won't happen but ideally, OG for Simons(+filler).
Don't care much for the #7 or Hart. Not into Little based on our current roster construct.
Then I move FVV, because I think Simons and Barnes would be the cornerstone

He also cant play a lick of defense. We wouldnt want him.
Its gotta be 7th, Keon and Hart at the very least. Then we can flip Hart.

Simons is probably the worst defender in the league and won’t be a raptor imo.

pingpongrac wrote:mademan wrote:Cavs wouldnt do it, but its laughable there are Raps fans who wouldnt move OG for Allen. Allen is a legit DPOY type player who turned around the Cavs in his first season there. And he's locked up longer than OG on a killer bargain contract
Allen had a very good season, but he wasn't what turned around the Cavs. It was a combination of his addition, Mobley's addition, Garland's leap to becoming a top ~10 PG and the bench (mostly Love, Osman and Rubio until his injury) being a stabilizing unit.
Allen's contract is very fair value (20M/year for next 4 seasons), but OG's contract is just as much of a bargain (18M/year for next 2 seasons). In the current landscape of the NBA, a two-way wing that can shoot the three at a high level and defend 1-5 is arguably more valuable than an elite defensive big that can basically only score at the rim (17 for 40 outside of the paint in 21/22 and 16 for 49 outside of the paint in 20/21).
It would probably be a pretty good trade for both teams though. Cleveland's biggest need is a 2-way wing while we could really use a rim protecting big and lob threat which would give Achiuwa another year or two of development as a 25 MPG player that comes off the bench. Theoretical lineups of Garland/LeVert/OG/Markkanen/Mobley and FVV/GTJ/Scottie/Siakam/Allen both look a lot more balanced than what Cleveland and Toronto trotted out as their primary starting lineups this season.
I think you're underrating Allen's extra 2 years. OG will probably get close to 30M with the cap going way up, so that's probably an 8M savings or so on those 2 years. Whether that matters to us as a team that doesn't tend to attract big free agents is less clear, though.
Where's the D?

Hart/Keon/#7 OR Hart/#7/Milwaukee's 2025 FRP.
Both are fair deals for OG depending on who's available at #7.
Simons is a restricted free agent and doesn't really fit our style of play.

I agree!
that's what the raptors should ask for. hart and 7 tho should be OK too. I don't think it's a deal breaker. And you always ask for more, with the mindset that you will be able to settle for a little less
lots of people give unrealistic trades on this board this is very realistic in my eyes,

keep Josh Hart. Good defender good team player. Great contract. Great rebounder for guard.

I'm looking at the upside of this I really want that 7th.
I think whoever they take is gonna be better than OG. Cheaper too. Closer to scotty's age and listen, if it's sharpe or mathurin knowing mu you picked them, knowing myself I think they both have superstar potential, that would be a different level of excitement. Like a Vince Carter era excitement

Agree he's not a bad player but he has 1 year left and will command a big raise. Sell high now
