Aren't the GSW supposed to be this great defensive team? I thought that was the narrative coming into the finals.

We were told by warriors fans that their defense actually was better based on regular season stats.

Last game of this playoffs in Boston. Tatum's dropping 40 tonight.

Everyone other than Curry (and maybe Wiggins) needs to step up and stop playing like hot garbage so Curry isn't gassed by the fourth quarter. Otherwise the Warriors are in trouble.

I thought Klay was pretty good last game. Poole was good in game 2.

which was why i thought it would be a easy sweep but this seasons playoff has taught us old generation is slowly getting replaced. not just this finals but from top to bottom. old teams need to rebuild and retool every single one of them got exposed. im looking at you gs, utah, suns, etc.

If.you thought the Celtics were getting sweept it only means you literally didn't see a single minute of Celtic ball this season OR don't know how to analyze what you saw.

The Celtics may lose this championship but it won't be for lack of ability. They are a strong team.

Warriors fans should correct me if I'm off base, but I get the strong impression that the Dubs are used to dominating the 3rd quarter to the extent that they build a huge lead and the other team gives up and goes away. They want to sit and watch garbage time in the 4th.

But the Celtics don't go away and they've been as good in the 4th as the Warriors have been in the 3rd. Seems like it's been a shock to the Warriors system and they haven't been mentally or physically prepared for a 48 minute war.

I think their team is mentally fragile right now. they're former champions and scared that this is their last shot at a title but it might be slipping away. If they lose tonight it might just break them. Gotta watch out for Draymond & Poole going dirty & undercutting guys or intentionally hurting them in some other way. The refs MUST protect the players from this happening.

Won't tune in until 9:20 est. There's no need to have such a late start time.

The 7 game series vs the Bucks and Heat, with several nail-biters, prepared the C's. Not talking trash, but those 2 teams scared me more than what I've seen from GS so far, though Curry we all know is amazing.

An interesting series to see at some point would've been the Nets v Warriors, two similar offensive-minded teams of about equal ability.

Yeah untouchable, cannot be ejected Draymond will probably pull some dirty plays to muck up the game. Timelord better be careful he'll probably go after his injured leg or Poole will flop and accidentally bowl over TL's leg.

Warriors fans will also say Horford and Smart might dive to injure Steph's gimpy ankle

Refs better not F*** up in this game

Oh, I'm sure if GS happens to win tonight, it will be because the refs F***ed up. Just like it always is with Boston.

Kinda? We usually take a dive to start the 4th (and Q2). If you ask Kerr, its a damned mystery

If you ask player tracking, its that Jordan Poole cannot create quality offensive opportunities against quality defenses. I got my hopes up in game 2, because after the predictable Q2 failure, we started Q4 with Poole, Wiggins and Dray playing together. Wiggins is important because he helps on perimeter D more than any other player we have, and Dray is important to take the ball out of Poole's hands as a decision maker. We started the 4th Q on a 6-0 run and then the game really devolved into garbage time

But typically, Poole is sent out there with Klay, OPJ, Looney... sometimes Lee, sometimes Iguodala, sometimes Wiggins. And the times he is out there with Dray, they play Dray off ball (which is just baffling tbh). Its something I've hated to see all year, and unfortunately we're still doing it. Pretending Poole is a good enough PG to battle elite defenses is a losing gambit, but Kerr has not seen the need to pivot yet... and even if I wanted to be a Devil's Advocate there, I couldn't, because I cannot explain it in any way that would track logically

If they lose the Finals, I'm sure Wiggins salary plus whatever necessary assets it takes will be moved for a KD type.

I would expect Golden State to be all in on DeAndre Ayton.

Over at the Pistons board we talked about this:

Pistons wanted a lotto pick plus filler for Jerami Grant. It didnt get done.

If GSW loses because they didnt have someone to guard Tatum/Brown instead of Otto Porter jr or Draymond, plus a bucket getter while Curry rests, was this a real blunder by GSW?

Was asking for Wiseman, or a pick that became Kuminga or Moody plus filler for Jerami Grant really a bad trade for GSW?

Sees laughable now that GSW might lose a championship over Kuminga or Wiseman.
