I watched a few of his videos and I think I may even subscribed, but I've yet to run into him, so I could proffer fellatio. It is what it is.

I'm not sure how I feel about "oh he's popular in the youtubes, but It's like anything really, a lot of people watch full house and think Danny Tanner is wholesome and funny, and a complete different group of people enjoy the raunchy humour of Bob Saget. Both had some level of niche humour. Some would say neither of these two guys were funny or deserve the celebrity they had (while they were alive). Some would say they are basicly actually the same person. Different strokes for different folks.

Wow that is pretty funny and the stunt totally worked because 5 minutes ago I had no clue that guy existed!

They must have thought he was making some type of movie because no one hassles the guy following him with the camera either.

Why do I feel like he's going to be court side in his Klay Jersey tomorrow night in Boston.....

Huge misstep by the Warriors, from my point of view.

It's not a misstep, it's just not anything. He won't impact their bottom line in any meaningful way.

Yes, in the grand scheme of things this doesn’t affect anything as the warriors are a $4 billion valuation+ franchise but there are opportunities to use this very good at what he does YouTuber to create some promotions for a different audience.

Eh, bad press with someone with a massive following among young american's is pretty stupid given the NBA's focus is on youth involvement.

his video has 25 million views nearly.

Here's one with nearly 80 million views.

Here's another channel he started.

And I'm sure there are plenty more! This guy has a HUGE influence.

I am genuinely surprised this whole time this guy was a famous YouTuber and I have no idea who he is and I'm a zillennial(Too young to be millennial, too old to be Gen Z.) who's a basketball fan so I should know who he is, that's crazy

forever ban is stupid. I like Steve Kerr's take more "says something about our conditioning that people think that was the real Klay...". no reason to ban a guy getting you eyeballs. if anything invite him in for a shoot around with real Klay. why not profit off his followers?

The ban to me is trying save face for their security for letting him get onto the court and shoot around.

It's a totally different world now. Everyone on the planet used to be steered towards the same sources before the internet. Whether that was the news, sports, television, music or movies. Now everyone has a personalized "feed" and is only likely to be exposed to things related to what they already like. In that way, you can have 2, 5, 10 however many million followers and seem like a really big deal to people who are aware of you but to everyone else who isn't, you may as well be the amazon driver or a local Home Depot cashier. The idea of celebrity in general is pretty post-prime at this point. Most popular youtubers conduct themselves as very grounded, regular people who are just thankful to be earning a source of income that allows them to pursue a lifestyle outside of the typical 9-5 grind. Now sure when some get to a certain level of notoriety or followership they may let that go to their head (although again, I think most don't). But honestly youtube has revolutionized entertainment in a good way imo, removing the whole industry created celebrity and putting it in the hands of the general public to decide what they want to present/view and build it by themselves organically.

Exactly. People are just bitter about things as always. Just because it’s not a 80s/90s form of getting a job, it’s automatically looked down upon as some form of laziness. Evolution doen’t just happen with people, it’s also with everything. Or else all these hot-takers here won’t be posting on an internet forum, and trying to talk basketball on their lawn chairs with their neighbors.

You don’t ban him then you just invite other fans to get on the court without consequences.
