ESPN just wants us to win, if we don't, there isn't a decent story out of the playoffs.

If the Cubs actually do win the World Series Jayson Stark is going to brag how he amazingly predicted a World Series winner. If the Cubs do not win the World Series no one will ever remember his pick.

I hate ESPN for many many reasons. One of the reasons I am glad that I don't have cable is that I don't get suckered into watching that station.

How are you watching the games tonight and tomorrow?

technically they're on TBS, which is owned by ABC, and all of it, including ESPN is owned by Disney.

TBS isn't owned by ABC.
TBS is part of the Turner broadcasting company which owns stations like CNN, TNT, Cartoon Network, and Court TV.

TBS is licensed to broadcast Atlanta Braves games, they do it nationally through cable TV. Disney owns the Atlanta Braves, they own TBS, and they own the rights, sound familiar?

Kinda like the Cubs and WGN.

I was pretty pissed when I saw that, too. That didn't stop me from taking a screen shot of the ESPN.com front page, if only for posterity's sake.

Sports Illustrated predicted the Cubs as champs in early July, if memory serves. That's when we were still under .500.

So that's a double jinx. My only hope is that they cancel each other out.

Kind of makes sense now. The Atlanta Braves play their spring training games at the Disney Wide World of Sports in Orlando.

It isn't exactly connected, there is some strange ties to each company by the TBS-DISNEY-BRAVES-Wide World of Sports conglomerate is kinda like the WGN-CUBS-Chicago Trib conglomerate.

If jinxes could cancel each other out, this isn't the franchise that would accomplish that task!
