2022 NBA Draft Thread – (June 23rd, 8PM, ESPN)

I don't want to see this team grab another rookie. Take a stash at 53. This team needs veterans

You can have a rookie and add veterans. They're not mutually exclusive.

Bottom line, we need more talented players who can defend and score. In the finals it got to the point where the only guys we could count on were our 5 starters, and sometimes and White/Grant. That's it.

We've got a ton of dead weight at the end of the bench. Nesmith/Hauser/Fitts/Kornett/Ryan/Thomas/Morgan.

Using this pick on a draft and stash is certainly a possibility. But There's enough roster spots to add a rookie with some legit talent AND veterans.

Someone like Tyrese Martin, Keon Ellis, Alondes Williams, Isaiah Mobley, Jules Bernard, Gabe Brown. There's a good chance that 1 of these guys could end up being a legit rotation player - either next season, or as early as 2023-2024. I'm not saying it's a guarantee but there's definitely a chance.

Koloko has nice defensive instincts and timing, but I don't think he can switch on the perimeter, his team played him in drop coverage.

That would be an issue because he wouldn't get much playing time if that's the case, the way our defense is set up.

Yeah I'm not too high on Koloko. Maybe as an UDFA but that's it..

I watched a 15 minute scouting report so I’m now an expert.. two NBA guys on YouTube (Jeff Goodman, somebody else) said they think Koloko can guard the perimeter and his system stopped him..

Yes, very interesting. Yoan is legit. So underrated. There's always 1 or 2 international guys who go way later than they should.

And NBA comp for Yoan, that's tricky. I'm not even really sure. He is pretty unique. I guess kind of like Blake Griffin before the injuries, while at the same time being able to shoot the ball like we saw from Griffin later in his career.

And NBA comp for Yoan, that's tricky. I'm not even really sure. He is pretty unique. I guess kind of like Blake Griffin before the injuries, while at the same time being able to shoot the ball like we saw from Griffin later in his career.
