This reminds me of Joakim Noah's situation in his rookie year.

Though I don't think Cousins was correct in this situation in a basketball sense. Every time the Kings try to run a complicated play in crunch time, it breaks down and either the ball goes flying out of bounds (See the youtube video someone else posted earlier in the thread) or the Kings get an awful shot. I'd much rather put the ball in the hands of our best creator and have him create something off the dribble. Tyreke was open, he's our closer, we have another game today in Phoenix, and he was open. Its not the highest percentage shot ever, but I'd rather have Tyreke take that shot than anyone else.

Cousins wants respect, but rookies don't get respect (See Noah). He wants to be a leader but he's got to jump through the hoops first. Its just a fact of the NBA life. I love that he's fiery and passionate, but he has to humble himself and realize that he's one of the league's youngest players who was having a bad game. He's not getting the ball, especially when he wasn't really open anyways.

Throwing punches is obviously a no-no. Thats just Demarcus' temper getting the best of him. Though I don't like the Kings' organization of handling it. It was clear that the incident was behind the team, as they were already on the plane when Cousins was pulled off. Garcia protested the suspension, and I trust Garcia to have a good feel about the locker room.

This.

The other day I said I wished that Nowitzki would knock somebody's lights out and get suspended so he would get some respect. And I didn't even mean it. I fell into the trap myself.

But there's a ton of people DYING to come to this kid's defense. Which is why kids like this exist. If you really wanna see him succeed, somebody send him to an anger management class, before something really bad happens.

People don't even get it. It makes me feel like an old man. There are so many people that want violence to win. KG steps up under guys taking jump shots, risking broken ankles, and people talk about what a great competitor he is.

You keep applauding it, it'll keep happening.

Has anyone applauded the violence?

I'm pretty sure everyone is happy with the fact Cousins actually called out Evans for his selfish play that has been hurting the team and even the coach has been afraid to confront Tyreke. so THAT is a good thing.

Where Cousins screwed up was getting in a fight with Donte Green. And he's being suspended and was kicked off the plane so nobody is giving him a pass for fighting.

Someone should punch Demarcus Cousins next time he takes a horrible shot which is about 5 times every game

I see Donte being that laid back stoner in the corner that pisses you off when you're angry just cause he's so laid back while your angry.

"yo donte why didn't you pass me the ball?"

"Sorry Demarcus, I'll do it next time."

He can be a good player, no doubt. He could be a top 3 center, probably top 2, but he just complains too much, and doesn't play the game enough.

What he said about Evans is true and I've always felt that way about Evans. He's a good scorer for himself, but he's really not a team player. For him to be effective, he needs to have the rock 100% of the time. That was his problem dating back to high school and Memphis. That locker room drastically needs a Charles Oakley.

+1. This guy must have one of the worst body languages of all time when he plays

lmao @ Cousins getting pissed about this.

Cousins is the same guy earlier this season that throws an inbound pass WAY out of bounds with the game on the line and an opportunity for a last second shot... and then responds with a half-smirk about it.

This guy has an attitude problem that has followed him everywhere he plays. People sticking up for him can only make excuses for him for so long before his bandwagon empties and he frustrates fans of his team.

I guess I don't understand it when people say "he just wants to win so bad, he has so much fire in him."

Really? I've played with people who constantly bitch out their teammates, shift blame to other people, and whine and pout all the time.

Often, it doesn't have anything to do with "wanting to win," they're simply selfish a-holes frustrated with their own play.

If Demarcus was surprised that Evans took the last shot of the game, then he needs to wake up and smell the roses, because like it or not, Tyreke is the King's premier player. He's going to get that shot unless someone else steps up and proves he deserves it. If Cousins wants to be that man, then he needs to work for it. Bitching and moaning won't turn him into a closer.

Furthermore, the guy scoring 14 points while shooting 35% from the field doesn't have ANY right to complain about the guy scoring 30 at 50%. Tyreke was the only reason the Kings were even in that game. He played his heart out. If not for a few too many turnovers, he would have been the most dominant player on the court that night.

Side note, what's up with all the Evans hate among you Sac fans?

We don't hate Evans. His decision making in the clutch has been awful this season and it just gets old.

tyreke's gonna get that last second shot until he passes the ball. i dont see that happening in the near future.
i think the kings fans who are "hating" on tyreke are "hating" because they get to watch him play all the time. he makes some awful, AWFUL decisions down the stretch of games because a.) he doesnt trust his teammates and b.) he wants to be the hero

its the same story with tyreke since HS. i've been critical of him ever since the first time i seen him play in HS. right then and there i came to the conclusion that he was the most selfish player i have seen since prime steve francis. he has done nothing since to make me change my tune.

Suspension isn't so bad, now Cousins can just focus on losing his body fat :D Quite frankly, I think they'd probably benefit a lot more if they suspended him for the rest of the season, and really, just let him concentrate on losing body fat, and sleeping. And not just him, but a guy like Favors(youngest player in the NBA) could benefit from that too. I mean, if you watched Favors last night, you'll see that he was literally an inch short from dunking everything(instead he missed all of the dunks.)

You have to be creative with your rookies, if you want to compete. You can either be too quick and big for the game, or the game is too quick and big for you. Both of these guys are catching up to it, but they have, well I wouldn't say a long way, but a little more to go.

put him in a situation like boston where guys are not judged by their appearance (big baby), bigs are fed on the post, and most importantly, savvy veterans who are used to playing in a winning/stable system, and he probably won't even say a word.

Greene has the chucker gene. It's how he's wired. Cousins has all the tact of a rabid Doberman, and at times seems to think he's the hub of the solar system. Both have talent. Both need to grow up and not F-up.

Greene and Cousins....basically acted AS EXPECTED. That affected their draft slot and their current status in the league. Cousins needs to communicate without hostility and arrogance. Greene needs to know his limitations.

cousins is a pu*** plain and simple, he isnt the leader and this isnt his team, so u want to fight becuase u dont take the last shot, gtfo, he is the most selfish player i have seen and its not like he was lighting up the scoreboard, he was being guarded the same as evans, and cousins doesnt have much of a low post game anyway so i doubt he would have scored to begin with. just shut up and play, quit being a whiney pu***

I don't care if tyreke tried to take a full court shot with 10 seconds left on the clock, you don't get into a fight with a teammate because of it, that will cause your team MUCH MORE than bad clutch decision making. I'd take a player with bad clutch decision making over one who fights and complains with teammates any day of the week, so it's a no brainer that the Kings are siding with Tyreke and suspending Cousins.
