Hey, just noticed this thread for the first time...the dual Raptors with the T and leaf is the winner? That would have been my pick as well, great job TZ, congrats...as well as congrats to the others!

Le Doug deserves the same amount of animosity that BC received. The guy is a propagandist/apologist to the worst degree.

Respect and congrats for getting your design looked at by The Star and Amir, but I'm not a fan of that jersey design. I'd like something more modern and without the primary logo on it. Something more simplistic.

Re: Jersey/Logo Attempts (Turbozone) - Updated
The thing that's interesting about TZ's design is that the Dino was heavily featured on our original jerseys. In fact it was the most dominant feature. So, with our 20th anniversary around the corner a little bit of of an homage to that with some new design elements wouldn't be so bad.
There were other designs that I also liked but if there's a way to pay homage to the past and use the 18 year history of the franchise to seem less expansion-ish and more a part of NBA history I'd kind of like to see them try. In order to do that you need to probably embrace either the original word mark, the original coloring, the pin stripes (TZ's design has one symmetrical one), or the original Dino.
It's a tough balancing act to borrow from a heavy 90s design while also adding new elements and modernizing It. I thought all the best Raptors-related designs attempted this balancing act (and there were some other great ones). I thought Los Manos' vintage 1940s jersey designs were the most impressive simply because they challenged the idea of what could be possible with a redesign that looked even further to the past than where the Raptors started.
I'd be interested in knowing what dream job you interviewed for, TZ.
Can you at least share if it was:
Logo design-related
Or
Journalistic
Or
MLSE-related?

I agree with your breakdown DH!
I swear, with all your beefed-up posts, you're going to be known as a Raptor Historian!
My Dream Job Interview yesterday was a bit of an over statement as my true Dream Jobs include:
- Lead Designer for MLSE
- Creepy Fitness Instructor
Yesterday's interview was to become a 3D Animator for the Government of Canada in one of their Crown Corporation's Gaming Divisions.
Definitely in my field, pretty lucrative and great benefits makes it a "dream Job" (small 'd')
Would still be pumped if it goes through! If they didn't notice my Sulphur Mouthwash I may have a chance!

You can check out the hard copy of the Toronto Star as there is more coverage in there including a pic of what looks like me posing in the middle of the sky!

I had no idea that such jobs existed within the Government of Canada. Hope you land it!

For a government that still uses a rotary phone and popsicle sticks to power their web portal, it is a rare job, but it does exist!
