No, but I am confident that Emperor Ernie will keep trading away #1 picks like a drunken sailor, all in an effort to save his hide.

No, because were still one injury away from disaster, specifically Nene & Wall.

So are you saying our crack medical staff will not be able to keep everyone healthy?

bump
With all the dummerness that has been going around, I figure people needed something happy to think about.

With a new GM, a new HC, a new direction, the Washington Wizards select in the top 5
I hope it happens, it'd be perfect. I am so ready for this season to be over already!

Really sad... I'm almost there too. And it's not hard to imagine the nightmare scenario of not making the playoffs AND losing the pick.
36 wins. 9th place in east. Late season run... Nightmare of nightmares, Ernie keeps his job.p

I'd like to think the Wizards would do blatant institutional tanking to prevent a late season run if they weren't sure they'd make the playoffs.

Two words for you from late last season: "Ninth place."

The funny thing is the times we have made an end-of-season run we end up with a better pick than our 'seeding'. The times when we blatantly tank are when we pick 10th and the like. You know: Stern liked to reward teams for making it look competitive. I dunno though, Silver believes in statistics. He'll probably let the chips fall where they may.

2014 Draft Prospects Thread
With Nene talking about getting an MRI and the front office pretending Otto doesn't even exist, it seems like as good a time as any to start hyping up Wiggins/Jabari/Randle.
The saddest thing though is if we had known a tank was incoming, we could have stashed Noel and potentially had this lineup next year:
Wall
Beal
Wiggins
Free Agent PF
Nerlens
Kill me now.

Re: 2014 Draft Prospects Thread
I know everyone sees Wiggins/Parker as the top picks but someone who is surging up draft boards and scouts talking about being a top 3 pick is James Young at Kentucky. Smooth game, great jumpshot, 2-way player:

We however need another big and Julius Randle is the absolute freak of the draft, 6'9 250 with crazy athleticism and a good inside/outside game. Another name to keep an eye on during the season is Joel Embiid, 7' C from Kansas who apparently has crazy potential and top 10 talent. C Willie Cauley-Stein is another big to lookout for.

Trade Wall and get Exum & Randle too add to Beal and Porter. Now there's a future

Trade nene.
if not a top 3 pick, start deciding to get a big out the draft that has some skills.

Unless were getting 2 top 5 picks that ain't gonna happen cause they'll both be gone fast but I really like that trade!

I was thinking trade Wall to Jazz for first rounder and pieces. Take Randle with that pick and either take Exum or Smart with our pick since it will be low.
And sign Monroe in offseason. Then 2016 we have a go at Durant.
Exum
Beal
Durant
Randle
Monroe

Its difficult to conceive of the idea of hoping for 0-8 to start the year, but here I am. I think we'll be 1-7 or 2-6 though. 0-8 is too good to be true.
