Horrible signing for the Kings, this team has 0 structure or direction of where they're going. Basically like the Bucks of the West.

How? They would have a nice trio of McLemore, Iggy, Cousins.

You do realize how hollow that stat is when you put those stats at face value.

It is points per 100 possessions....the defensive stat you are using.

A difference between one point either way... would make you 10th or 16th...

You can make a better argument that posting that... esp when a single point that could come from a free throw or garbage time could make a world of a difference over 82 games esp when Iggy is or isn't on the floor.

List opp PER, player respect, points per isolation, etc if you want to make an argument but don't use a team stat to validate Iggy's defensive impact.

Mehhhh get outta here with that "ranked" stuff that's deceiving ... Hell you can give up .5 ppg less than another team and be separated by 5 spots ....for example

What about the FG% eFG% TO% etc etc

Because when I looked it didn't look like there was much difference if any at all

And I would call that a non factor

Their defensive rating raw numbers did go from 103 to 102 tho .... I guess that's the impact you guys are talking about?

The Nuggets are allegedly offering a 5 year deal for $63 Million. Could be interesting to see what deal he ends up taking. The Nuggets situation seems better, but I have a biased point of view.

How is that a good trio? Iggy is going to be 30, his career wil be winding down while the other two are coming into their primes. Also, not competing with anybody with that trio, middle of the pack team if they perform well, high lottery if they don't.

Andray Blatche has a PER of almost 20. And he got $1.4m for one year. Make whatever conclusions you want from that.

That's an anomaly signing, he actually deserved way more, don't understand how Blatche still seems to be taboo, credible sample size as well for such a good PER.

I am not in favor of the move of signing AI to a $14M a year contract but I can see the thinking behind it for the Kings. If they think this would be a move that could get them into the playoff hunt along with a few other minor moves it makes sense.Ya they would be a first round and out team but Cousins and McLemore would get some post season experience and hopefully their games improve so in three or four years when AI contract is up or is moved in the last year of his deal the team has a winning attitude around it and both of the youngster could be all-star caliber players. So bring in other top tier or second tier players in theory should be easier.

Once again I would like to say that I like this move for the Kings. Serves well to change team culture, good fit with Ben Mclemore. Specially since it isn't the max.

Andray Blatche had A really good season last year .... Hence his per reflecting that ... he also had a history of being a known head case until he had a ressurection of sorts in Brklyn if he can do that one or two more times i can see that dollar amount definately raising up ........ I don't get your point in bringing him up tho?

Pretty much. I just don't get what their "plan" is. Why waste a max contract on Iggy? No disrespect to Iggy, he's a good player and all, but he's not worth any where near a max.

You know what this reminds me of? It's kinda like when the bulls went out and signed Ben Wallace to all of that money ... It was the same kind of talk ... " he's gonna be good for the youngsters" "defensive impact" etc etc etc
