I wouldn't pay much attention to Kevin Pelton's assumption on the Bobcats' optimized future. He's one of the most inept of all of the ESPN Insiders. This is just Pelton's way of throwing tar on Charlotte's time to shine because he despised the signing of Al Jefferson and predicted that they'd finish in the bottom of the standings yet again despite the acquisition. You would see him give slight praise to the Pelicans & Pistons, but execrate the Bobcats in the very same breath as lottery scrubs

Hollinger currently has the Bobcats' odds of making the playoffs at 69.7%

Best case scenario seems to be 17th-25th-48th picks, not bad, not great, I think you can get in late lotto with 17+25th, there is no really a big difference between the 8th best prospect and the 18th, so some teams that could need depth, Lakers, Sixers, could do a trade like that.
If Charlotte wants certain guy, could be a gamble.

im gonna guess the Detroit pick will be 18th and the Portland pick will be 23rd...should be able to get a couple good players at those picks

Should be able to get a perimeter shooter (SG/SF) & another solid piece (either backup PG or backup PF)

maybe Spencer Dinwiddie and Adreian Payne, that would be a good draft, got a swiss army knife and a high energy stretch 4

I holding out hope that Detroit is overtaken by a couple of teams like Chicago or Cleveland. It's entirely possible, and that pushes Detroit down to the 9th seed which gets us exactly #9 in the draft as it stands right now.

Yes, the 13 seed (Memphis) in the western conference is better than the 9th seed in the eastern conference.

im hoping one of their key players gets hurt nothing major tho (like a sprained ankle) and sits out a while...

I like your choices. My ideal choices would be, of course Doug McDermott if his lack of athleticism & combine numbers allow him to slip, but if not, more realistic options are Jordan Clarkson/Shabazz Napier as backup PGs, and/or Kyle Anderson/Roscoe Smith as backup PFs

Careful though, if they drop to the 10th seed, we don't even get the pick till next year.

At the beginning of the season. I thought you guys would have your own lotto pick and our pick in the late teens. Well you'll still be getting a lotto pick, but it's the Pistons providing that.

Back to back blowouts to the magic and wizards.

If Walker keeps missing clutch free throws we may end up with our pick as well. Some damn painful losses lately for us.

There are Lakers to deal with that (yeah they are currently a bit worse than Pistons and went 3-7 in last 10)

Portland is about to lose their third in a row tonight, and then they play us. Would be nice if we could make them lose their 4th in a row. They had such a hot start to the season they have to come down, at least slightly eventually.

Here's a great place to track where our picks currently are. The site is updated by the hour.
