44, 5th seed - the same as this season, but I think it takes a better team to accomplish that. Overall I liked the off-season moves, but losing Ariza and basically Webster will hurt some.

Feeling ok about my prediction but I have Jay81 :) - so switching to 49. Hmmm, maybe I should stay, hands overshot last year by 5... decisions.

I didn't over shoot. Randy underperformed.

I mean come on. Who does whole sale changes to back ups that can't generate offense instead of rotating them in one at a time like he later learned to do. And I couldn't have imagined he would suck at calling timeouts so badly. LOL

Well, with the upgraded bench, he can't mess up the rotations because the back ups are better. There is a back up PG to start the year. Otto and PP can dribble so that helps the 2nd unit. And Hump and Blair can play.

This team is way more talented and balanced via skills then last years team. And Wall, Beal, Nene and Gortat have experience together. And Beal can dibble better. Wall shot better.

Last years team could have easily produced more then 49 wins. So MIA worse, CLE better, CHI better, Wizards better with PP as a closer and front court. That 3 more wins.

Wasn't expecting that prediction from you Nivek and Ousted in the first round. I'd be willing to put up a side bet that the Bullets/Wizards make it out of the first round. I got some scratch as long as it's reasonable. Such as Ben's Chili Bowl husband and wife dinner (Healthy), Bottle of 15 year Scotch (SingleBlend), Tee Time (Good Golf Course).

Nah, I'm not going to wager (even friendly-like) on a wild guess. I'll have an actual prediction MUCH closer to the season.

If Dog Rabbit to the revisionist coulda shoulda woulda -- a 44 win team is a 44 win team :)

I also don't buy that it was Randy - look at how really bad the bench was to start the season.

It is interesting at how good the board was in predicting the record - spot on.

I also don't buy that Ariza's minutes of last year will easily be replaced by PP/Otto. So, I think we will improve... just not by more that 10% or so... unless Wall/Beal have an incredible breakout. I also think this team will have many more injuries this year than last - Wall didn't miss a game.

2 things -- You forgot about me -- i made my prediction on page 3. Also, you don't need to put up a new post every time someone makes a prediction (if you don't want). You can just edit your original post on page 1. Up to you -- may save some time.

Thanks for compiling this... one thing though. I predicted a 6th place ECF finish.

It is good to see myself planted firmly in the middle. I believe in the wisdom of the crowd. So, I think I'll go ahead and light up my victory cigar and set up my Excel spreadsheet to begin tracking Durant's "pre-Wizards minutes." I think our FO should really be working with the Thunder staff to make sure they don't put too much mileage on our guy. Kind of how National Soccer Team coaches and club coaches work together.

Yeah, I think I will keep it on the last page - so that folks that are just adding their predictions have it at their finger tips.

Yeah group think is a bad idea unless it's your idea, in which case it becomes a great idea that we already should have read up on because you would have told us to look it up since we've already talked about it.

Reading this thread: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1336620&start=60

it seems like when a comment didn't go along with your logic, you didn't hesitate to question it's reasoning. Questioning someone because they gave a B+ instead of an A as an off-season grade? That sounds like trying to influence others into a group think mentality.

I want to change my vote to 43 wins.

I have a bad feeling Wall goes down for ~20 games, and we're forced to start Miller for that time. I like Dre, but he's not the answer at backup point guard, and I think the team is going to suffer greatly if he has to start at any point during the season.

Yeah, I think last year we kind of lucked out - Wall played 82 games, Beal "only" missed 9 and Nene "only" missed 29. If Wall had missed 8-10 games we probably don't win 40.

No, but I hope he is... or Miller if Wall goes down or Rice if Beal goes down... but I hope they are too
