hey guys i think this thread needs an analysis of your personal top 5 picks.
like,

1. jahlil okafor - can post up bla bla
2. karl towns - good defender bla bla
3. etc..

and give analysis of their strengths and weaknesses

by the way, do you guys think okafor can post ups NBA players like he did in college? will he be effective offensively and defensively?
he looks big and sluggish to me (Pau Gasol-ish) but could get away with his quick first step against those college players.

and realistically, who do you think we will pick if we got that top 5 pick(amen)?

1. Jahlil Okafor, C, Duke
- True back-to-basket center
- Great size, wingspan, 7'5'', and huge hands
- Excellent touch around the basket
- Excellent offensive rebounder
- Feel like conditioning will be his biggest hurdle
- Should be a much better defensive rebounder given his size, isn't super athletic
- Capable of being a #1 option in an NBA offense

2. Karl Towns, C, Kentucky
- Two way impact player
- Great size, wingspan 7'3''
- Not as polished as Okafor offensively, but much better as a rim protector and defensive rebounder
- More athletic than Okafor, but not as strong
- Better shooting stroke, good hook shot, doesn't have the footwork Okafor has
- Great instincts defensively
- Conditioning won't be an issue

3. Kevon Looney, F, UCLA
- HT 6'9'', with a 7'3'' wingspan
- Fills up the stat sheet
- Good rebounder
- Can guard 1-4 positions due to length and agility
- Smooth player with a nice jumper
- Still scratching the surface, very high upside
- Decent ball-handler, but worry about creating own shot
- Likes to take it coast to coast and finishes strong
- Really good offensive rebounder
- Could be more assertive, but has great feel for the game

4. Emmanuel Mudiay, G, INTL
- Haven't seen him, but I know he'll be Top 5

5. Mario Hezonja, G, INTL
- Haven't seen him more than his scouting video on DX, but I know he'll be Top 5

6.-10.

Also, just how bad do you guys think Okafor will be defensively? I know Randle has only played about 14 minutes so far, but ideally if we (potentially) draft 2 top 10 picks for the first time in 30+ years, I'd want them to be cohesive together on both ends of the floor.

Personally, I think Towns would be a better fit for Randle because of his great help defense, but at the same time I don't necessarily think Randle is worth passing over Okafor if given the opportunity to draft him. I'd rather have Okafor at center and build out from there with a better shooting four, etc.

Unfortunately Blake has fell in love with it and his numbers have declined because of it.

Randle already got a decent jumper. He hit some in the preaeason. Too bad he got injured

Cauley-Stein has elite athleticism and length, so I'd probably go with him as far as defensive potential since he can guard multiple positions at a high level. Very good in the passing lanes as well. Towns has a better BBIQ which allows for him to have great feel and timing at protecting the rim.

It's a combination of both. Him and Chris Paul run pick and pop all day. I watch just about every Clippers game. Even the announcers comment on it, specifically Ralph Lawler. He is like Jordan Hill was at the beginning of the year.

He's such a good passer that it works from the extra space, but like I said, his efficiency is dropping because he settles for too many jumpers.

I believe so. He is more fluid on offense, although its going to take him a few seasons to get to DeAndre's level in the NBA.

The best part about Jordan is that he knows what he excels at and is content on mastering those characteristics (defense and boards).

WCS will be able to score further than 10ft from the hoop. Hopefully he lands in a good situation so he can continue to develop his game and stay engaged.

WCS' elite athleticism and length is what we need imo. i LOVE that BIG body #nohomo. he'd be a perfect fit for randle :love:

but i doubt we could snatch some picks to snab him lol
