Just say No to trading Leonard, please..... you don't trade developing 7' bigs with his shooting ability, period, unless it's part of a package bringing an all star quality player in return.

I think Chandler is a better fit for us because I worry about Batum's health and his head this year, but I like AA a lot too.

These decisions are very difficult because we just don't know what is going to "put us over the top" and correspondingly which of our young assets we should be willing to give up.

I wanna feel good about the Chandler/AAA rumours but being an Arsenal supporter (years of failed transfer promises) i will hold out hope until I see it confirmed.

Lets hope i'm wrong :)

Now I'm seeing on Twitter that Denver wants two first for Chandler and a first and second for AA

I cannot imagine anyone giving up two 1st picks for Chandler. Denver can want all they want, but if they truly want something for Chandler, they'll have to reduce their expectations. That or they will just have to keep Chandler.

Chris Mannix@ChrisMannixSI

Several teams--including Sacramento, Portland--waiting to see if Denver's asking price for players drops. Right now, too rich for anyone.

Thunder working hard to get Brooke Lopez. Sounds like maybe it could go through if Reggie Jackson agrees to sign an extension with the Nets.

Someone else is now saying that is not allowed under the new CBA, that the Nets would have to wait until FA to resign him.

Well, they have to wait until the summer to do so, yes. His extension period was July 1st-October 31st 2014. He'll be a restricted free agent this summer. It's more of an agreement to resign with them this summer rather than take the qualifying offer and bolt somewhere NEXT summer.

DEN will come down from the 1 and 2 to just a 1 if no one bites soon. I am not worried.

But i do think they will hold on to Chandler if they don't get more than just 1 first.

Also I kinda want them to do it just for the extra drama factor. Our players and theirs already don't like each other. Throw in the dynamic of twin versus twin? Amazing. But do they start Lopez and lose the defense and rebounding of Adams in the front court?

They'd have to start him if they brought him into town.

I think Denver will come down on the prices. I'm sure they have enough interested parties willing to give up a 1st so why not ask for two then just agree to the best offer last minute? Maybe someone gets crazy enough and caves as well.

Afflalo + Chandler is much better than anything we have on the bench. If they don't want CJ or Trob (God that would be a lot of duplication with Farried & Hickson already) we could be looking for a third team to give up a 1st for them.

CJ + Trob + Wright + Claver + Barton or Crabbe + 1st for Chandler & Afflalo is a lot to give up but I would absolutely do it.

Blazers will send Will Barton, Victor Claver, a future lottery protected 1st and a second-round pick to Denver for Afflalo and Alonzo Gee. Thomas Robinson goes to the Nuggets too, source tells Yahoo.

Per Woj

Thoughts?

I like it, pretty much what we expected, get Afflalo amd improve/clean the bench up, I'd to see what Vic does with some playin time, good trade IMO

Now, is Afflalo or Chandler (or in my perfect world, both) a more dynamic "win now" option for this team? Most likely, yes. Is Prince a better option than Wright as a backup SF? Most likely, yes.

Not as sexy, but an upgrade...

I still think that even if it costs CJ and Leonard to get a rental of Afflalo and Chandler, Olshey should pull the trigger. The positive fallout from going deep into the playoffs could be a boon for a small market team. Even if this is the basic 10 man rotation:

Lillard/Blake
Wes/Afflalo
Batum/Chandler
Aldridge/Freeland
Lopez/Kaman

I believe that 10 could beat anybody in the west and contend for a championship.

I think it's stronger than:
Lillard/Blake
Wes/CJ
Batum/Prince
Aldridge/Leonard
Lopez/Kaman

So we give up Leonard - fillers and 1st (most vital piece to the trade) for afflalo & chandler, and Afflalo walks this offseason..you are okay with that?

So essentially, Leonard, TRob, Wright, Barton + 1st for Chandler

Yep, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Simply because I think adding AAA and Chandler would give the Blazers a good chance at winning the championship. I also happen to believe that some team is going to throw a huge amount of money at Wes in the offseason, especially if the Blazers go deep into the playoffs...Afflalo is insurance and could be here next year. And FWIW, I think Leonard would actually be the most vital piece going out.

We're talking opinions here. I happen to think:
Leonard, TRob, Wright, Barton, late 1st, CJ, Claver, even at their respective ceilings are backup players. To trade any combo of them for 2 starter caliber players works for me.

I feel sorry for T-Rob in the sense that he has all the talent in the world but cannot seem to put it together. There is a small part of me that wonders if he will blossom and some will say OH God O'neal all over again. However the Blazers do not have time to wait for him to finally realize his potential.

I like the deal for the Blazers and the extra roster spot screams picking up a big man but we shall see.

Afflalo will obviously help the Blazer bench immensely. Gee I don't know much about, but doesn't look like much. If it really is a 3 for 2 then a roster spot has opened for a 3rd PG, which is good news.
