Deep down, many sick people wish him injury but they won't admit that to not to look bad. Sports brings the worst in people. It's beyond pathetic when it reaches that degree of blind hate.

I'm a fan of Durant, have been since he was drafted, big reason why i'm seriously into basketball.

I'm not going to stop watching basketball because he left a team. If he was on the sixers, i would be right there watching every single game.

Don't bother. Blind haters are impossible to reason with. It's clear that you aren't a GSW fan but they would still call you a bandwagon fan anyway. Nothing wrong at all with being a player fan. I will always root for my fav players to win. Durant in OKC/GSW. Curry in GSW. Dirk in Dallas. Wade in the Heat. Superstars are the ones who create the interest in the NBA. Therefore, being a player fan is very understadable and common in the NBA these days. I bet many real LBJ fans kept cheering for him in Miami and there is nothing wrong with that if LBJ was the reason they cheered for the Cavs in the first place. If you remove that reason from the team, then there is no reason to keep supporting a team without main reason you started supporting the team.

Honestly, and maybe its because I'm a fan of a team, but it hurts a little. KDBrah was a guy I really thought was an OKC fan for years and I'd stuck up for him behind the scenes with mods on this site in the past. I feel like there's a connection with fans of my teams, and I feel like I have that w/ the guys on the OKC board. I think that's where Pill is coming from. It just hurts a little to see someone I kind of spoke with and interacted with regularly turn face at the drop of a hat. But that's just me. It was like July 4th poof, just gone.

I don't know if I can articulate exactly why I feel this way, but watching Durant scream and talk **** after blocking Westbrook's layup was like a punch in the gut. You can't claim to take the high road and take shots at the media for manufacturing drama and then do something like this. It was a pretty classless move and you'd think after all those years together he'd have some more respect for the guys he fought with.

I don't know. I think I'm firmly Team Russ after that.

I lost some respect for KD after he started talking trash to the OKC bench tonight. It's great that you played well and your team is destroying, but talking trash when you jumped ship to a powerhouse team and winning isn't something to be proud of.

I don't like Lebron at all, but at least he wasn't talking trash to the Cavs when he was destroying them with Wade and Bosh the year he left.

I'm a Wizard fan but been a KD fan since Texas...definitely not gonna stop being a fan because he left OKC.

We all got our favorites bro.

To be fair he said on the court he was gonna be like that, and Kd isnt Kawhi. Hes always talked and popped off on the court after big plays. Did he say something after blocking Westbrook? I thought it was Draymond, i remember Kd get that **** outta here when he blocked the other guy.

Most those guys are new, i dont Kd gives a **** about any Thunder player not named Collison or Westbrook. He didnt have many playoff wars with like 95% of the team.

By all accounts Kanter was the one that started it and Kd was specifically talking to Enes. Kd was quiet early on in the game and didnt say **** to them until then. And even then he was only talking to Enes when he was talking to the bench (and Kanter has been taking shots at him all summer). Adams even told Kanter to chill at one point.

So they can trash talk him all they want but he can't trash talk them back? That's not fair at all.

From twitter everyones saying Kanter was the only one talking to him and he was only responding to Kanter.

Not sure where this "Kd trash talking the whole bench" narrative came from

Read on Twitter

Seems like Kd is still close with Collison and Morrow, im def sure he is with Nick, they go way back. Roberson and Adams looked very uncomfortable when Kanter and Kd were talking and Adams even told Kanter to shut up. Seems like Kd is still cool with the guys he was with to me.........

Grant and Kanter were the only guys he talked trash to and in both cases they initiated it. Both are new guys on the team and the rest of the team i didnt mention are new guys he didnt play with too outside Payne.

Yeah. Kanter deserved what he got. I mean he really tried to get into his head somehow but failed badly. It was an embarrassing attempt from him. Adams and the rest of the bench apart from Kanter didn't talk because the talk from KD wasn't toward them.

Nothing wrong with being a fan of a particular player, and Durant is going to have a monster season this year.

I'm admittedly a fan of his talent, but I can also admit if he had signed with 28 other non-OKC teams, I would feel much better about him than specifically signing with the team that just beat him. I think his winning titles with Golden State (very likely to happen) for me will have a different long-term legacy than almost any other scenario where he would have won titles unless Curry or multiple players get injured and he carries a unique load that is unexpected.

I also don't think KD's move is all that comparable to LeBron's Miami move (Miami = much more reminiscent of the Celtics Big Three Formation) and is very unique in NBA history. Still, I love watching him play and this year he is going to be probably at his best ever, and maybe that's what he wanted all along -- an easier road to titles and a chance to play the game with joy and to find himself, etc. I can't fault that too much if that is what makes him happy.

I still don't get all the hate for Durant for choosing the best team for himself. If you are getting paid the same, it's only logical to pick the place where your job will be easiest. Not to mention he only played in OKC because of the draft lottery, it's not like he picked that team himself. Yes, it sucks for the competitive balance of the league, but why should he care about that? I wanted him to stay in OKC since I like them a lot them a lot more than the Warriors and I want NBA to be more unpredictable, but it's his career and I can't hate him for choosing what he thinks is best for him. I don't see at as weak or cowardly at all.

Now people are desperate to find a reason to hate him and everything he does is under a microscope. It's getting ridiculous. Maybe he talked a bit of trash tonight. Who cares. It happens in virtually every game

Yeah, I mean, it's all hypocrisy, the hate. And the gymnastics done to separate this from what Lebron did are remarkable. It's all garbage as a criticism of either player. If the management team had acquired the players, no one would have said anything, and that right there makes any criticism of the player foolish and hypocritical. You want to win, you need talent... so you pursue the best talent.

Loyalty is laudable, and everything, but the team can turn and trade a player at any time, and if you've already put in a whole pile of years, then your loyalty obligation (if there even is one in the first place) is well and done after 7-9 seasons of basketball. For both fo these players, it's just... I dunno. It's a WWE narrative, is all. Same stuff, just trying to generate conflict, interest, rabid fandom for the sake of ratings, etc.

As far as the player is concerned, he should absolutely want the best chance to win, and that's what he's gone and found for himself. I'm going to enjoy watching him click with the Warriors. Frankly, I hope he beats the ever-loving hell out of the Cavs in the Finals this year, with him and Steph dueling for Finals MVP. I was rooting for the Warriors last year, though it was sort of win-win for me because I like Lebron. Should be fun.

Cant blame the Okc fans for being emotional but it is strange seeing the more neutral fans start to grasp for straws and believe media narrative to disparage the guy. 2011 Lebron esque in some ways

I think the funniest part is how hypocritical alot of fans are that want that loyalty from players, but would be quick to welcome a higher caliber player over a long tenured guy on their team. If a team had a solid allstar caliber guy for multiple years and their team was gonna bail on him for a higher caliber player (not even Mvp caliber) the majority of fans would be all for it. The years hes spent there wont matter all of a sudden, theyll get some social media posts for appreciation but thats not much of anything.

Lebron went to a team and turned them into a contender, Kd went to a team that was already a serious contender. That's the difference. Also it's pretty clear that Curry, Green and Klay>>Wade and Bosh.

It's wasn't the same thing, and people need to stop saying it was.
