I'm getting the camillepd vibe off this Melo stuff now for one reason: Kyrie's demand.

I don't think a Kyrie/Melo swap is even worth discussion because it's so outlandish, but what I do think Kyrie's request does is shakes up the Cavs to the point where Love makes sense to move in a scenario where Kyrie brings back a nice young piece.

For example, if Kyrie returns a young blue chip guard on the rise, I personally think it then makes much more sense to move Love in a Melo+ exchange to appease Lebron and replace some of Kyrie's scoring.

I don't think anything thinks of Kanter as an "asset". But he's younger, has a couple NBA skills (can score and is a great offensive rebounder), and he has one less year than Anderson. So in theory he should be easier to move either to a 3rd team or in the future.

i really don't know that's true. you can play ryan anderson without him completely killing your defense. with a center it's different. i think they're both pretty hard sells to anyone. let okc do it before we make the trade. i can almost guarantee you we'll be back at the 2 yard line forever.

The fact that you prefer Grant and McDermott over Abrines and Ferguson speaks towards your BBIQ.

its mind boggling actually. Ferguson and Abrines are OKC's best two assets. Grant and Mcdermott are expiring salary fillers.

The fact that I have more knowledge of trades than you?

Based on what? A blank statement with no backing?

You prefer McDermott and Grant over Abrines and Ferguson. That shows how little knowledge you have

ehhhh...for example brooklyn a young team why would they want a 30 year old on a 3 year deal

I would rather have a 25 year old on a 1 + 1 deal...both have offensive skills sets. both have bad contracts. 1 + 1 is a lot easier to swallow that 3 years.

Geez...so the only teams with arguably less to offer than the Thunder are the ones that Melo will waive his clause to go to...That's about as New York Knicks as it gets.

Mp, can you handle this clown for me? I'm in the shower and can't type right now lol.

Just because McD and Grant are more house hold names doesn't mean they are better assets to gain in a trade. Abrines and Ferguson are cost controlled assets with more potential

it's the only reason you might be able to do a kyrie deal. because willy and a pick aint sh*t on their own. and people think that's too much.

Abrines and Ferguson can split time at the 3

We can probably dump Kanter at the deadline for a 2nd rounder

That's as good as it gets and these people are crying over Kanter's two year contract with a player option

he could be a star if he could defend a chair

He slows down your offense a lot and he's so bad defensively he ends up being a net negative.

Kanter is an excellent PnR Center tho. Him slowing the game down last year was more something out of necessity. Russ-Kanter over the last two years had a 118.4 ORtG.

It's an expiring. Kanter almost 100% opting out in his prime years. Plus he helps tank

ok how about this?

since OKC doesn't really have any exciting pieces to give us, how about they take Noah off our hands?

Melo & Noah for Kanter, a future 1st, and a bunch of filler contracts to match (they don't have many though so it might need to involve a 3rd team)

you know what, i think grant might be a late bloomer though. he's a good defender and he looked good offensively in the playoffs. i would take him. he's like a holiday type but younger.
