Outside of Anthony, what would the Cavs receive?

I don't admit that at all. As a matter of fact I think Towns is the better player to win a championship this year.
So how is Towns going to deal with winning in a 7 game series when the other team is making adjustments. What about defense? How about knowing how the game is a little different in the playoffs vs the regular season and the ability to use that to their advantage?

How about just letting our young guys grow up a little, mature as players, learn the ropes of the NBA and absorb what's been learned so they can apply it in the future? This need for instant gratification is not very becoming (NOT directing this at you personally, AirP) and in order to become Champions, you have to experience loss and pain in the playoffs first. Not everyone can have Michael Jordan's learning curve and success rate.

This was just a hypothetical about LeBron coming to Minnesota for 1 year before going to LA next year. He wants to win in that single year he's in Minnesota so what do you do if he says sure but you have to move Towns for M.Gasol to up his chance at winning it all his SINGLE year in Minnesota. He doesn't care what happens when he leaves. This evolved from the situation in Cleveland, LeBron leaves and Kyrie is left with horrible roster filled with old vets with bad contracts.
Minnesota knows it's going to take at least 1 if not 2 playoffs to get the young guys acclimated to the playoffs and how different they are then from regular season games.

Nope. Towns is simply that good. He WILL figure it out with LeBron's guidance.

Ugh... how about an imaginary 32+ year old center that is currently better then Towns, I threw M.Gasol in there, it's just an example of sending a great prospect for the next 15 years for 1 better year no matter how it effects the franchise past the next year. If LeBron is coming to your franchise for only 1 year he's going to want the best players he can get that one year.

In that hypothetical situation there is still no way in Hell LeBron will be demanding we trade Towns.

Right, because he cares about Minnesota after he leaves.
If there is a vet center that will do better then Towns in the playoffs next year I'd completely expect LeBron to force that issue to better his title chances. It's that simple. Look at how he didn't reference Wiggins in his coming home speech. He's already done it.

Find the best possible draft picks for deals from Dieng, Bjelica, T. Jones, & Patton to send 3-4 1st rnd picks to the Cav's along with Teague. Who cares about wing depth this year if you can roll out Irving/Wiggins/Butler/Towns/Gibson.
If that's just not possible Teague/Wiggins/Aldrich for Irving/Korver/Shumpert would fill out the roster much better.

He is coming up next year with a max contract ($ 158 mill) and you will be paying him more than you would Kyrie in 2018-19. He is best friends with Butler and told Butler not to push for a trade to Cleveland. Kyrie put Minnesota as one of his 4 preferred destinations (which means he will plan on resigning after 2 years). Kyrie is an all star and probably the most all around offensive player in the NBA. The only way for you to get him is to trade a Wiggins. When all stars become available and want to play on your team...you go get him. I know I might be prejudice but Kyrie, especially in the playoffs where I assume Minnesota is going this year, will be just killer for you guys.
I am sorry to see Kyrie go, but I, and think the Cavs front office won't trade Kyrie for just anything. Someone will offer a nice package including one young upcoming player. Don't be like Boston and "trust the process"....we heard that too before Lebron came back...you guys have been waiting a long time to be a successful (not a fringe) playoff team. Go for it.
That being said, I as a Cavs fan would only trade Kyrie for Dieng and Wiggins, so I am sure even that would be debated by Minnesota fans. Kyrie is simply a better player than Wiggins, and always may be a better player.

Welcome to our board and I see your point. There are problems with your trade. First of all it messes with our roster balance and Teague won't have great value if we decide to trade him in late December or January. Secondly, we have 6 more years of control with Wiggins....he is 22....and many of us love his potential and progression. And last of all giving up Wiggins would result in a bigger package for the Cavs than any team has been able to get for their star players (George, Butler, Paul or Cousins) and way better than anything you could get from anyone else for Kyrie. I really like Kyrie. But for the combination of those reasons....I don't think I would make the trade.

You are definitely a minnesotan.
I will lay it out to you in an honest way. Wiggins holds more trade value than kyrie. Kyrie has also displayed that he is a headcase.
We don't want kyrie for wiggins straight up.
Look elsewhere.
