I love watching stuff like this. I remember those Providence videos about draft night for Johnson and Moore, they were a great watch.

This is truly a no lose pick. A guy ranked 12 on almost all boards and get him at 27 is a great night's work. He is not the make or break for this team nor was this pick a trade asset. This is just all upside for both the kid and the c's. Let's hope he makes the most of it. By the way do we know if he even worked out for us seeing he was expected to go maybe in the lottery?Duke4life831 wrote:Im a huge fan of his. Elite rebounder and elite shot blocker and elite of the elite when it comes to athleticism. No offense to speak of, horrible FT shooter, can hunt for blocks instead of playing good defense and can throw some tantrums.
But you guys have the ability to put him in the ideal situation. 12-15 minutes a game, have him focus on just defense and rebounding. He can be a bigger and better version of what GS got with Jordan Bell last year. He is really the ideal center to go with your guys team going forward. Im still in shock you guys got him.

Well Good for Danny then recognizing the talent on the table rather than go for the guys they worked out. If there is a winning ticket sitting there you pick it up. I am sure our organization and team will sort out any issues that are around Williams.smith2373 wrote:ConstableGeneva wrote:Did we work him out, interview him?
He only worked out for teams picking in the teens, was never expected to be there at 27
Really good to get a great hard defensive worker so cheap to work with that arsenal if offense.Duke4life831 wrote:ViperGTS wrote:Duke4life831 wrote:Just for those Deandre Jordan comparisons.
Per 40 in college
DJ: 16/12 and 2.5 blks
RW: 16/14 and 4 blks
Again I think he has the next DJ/Capela written all over him.
Add in the Stevens effect....and....
Yup. Then being surrounded with the likes of Kyrie, Hayward, Brown and Tatum on the perimeter then having Horford and Baynes teaching him the ins and outs while on the court. The perfect ideal scenario for him to maximize his potential, just like DJ had in LA and Capela had in HOU.

You thinking he's going to have a size problem at all shows you're not aware that wingspan and athleticism is far more important than whether he's 6-9 or 7 feet.
If he has any problems in the NBA, it won't be based on his height.
I didn't say anything about that, I'm totally aware of it. Standing reach and athleticism is the most important thing, but it was just a note.
Ainge looks like he is searching the new draymond or something like that, the real problem is that those 2 were lazy and williams is considered one too, that was the line of my comment.
It's okay to admit you don't know what you're talking about. Admirable, even.

It's ok to admit you don't know to read, and if you are looking for some attention or have special needs isn't my problem, go to fix it with people who can help you, don't make me lose the time responding to idiotic things.

Anyone else not big fan of that quote? He's got motor issues, so I imagine this is the sort of thing that got him to fall to 27.
