Sign KOQ to a 3/24 deal. If Enes opts out let him walk. Put feelers out on Jerami Grant, Slowmo and Hezonja. If nothing bites at a reasonable deal just roll with what we got. If we can trade Lee for something then do it.

Take away time from the ones who will still be here. Get us meaningless wins. Then jet. Leaving us in the middle of the lottery. Its time to cut that out.

That's literally what we are right now. We need to be seeing which D-League guys can be our cheap 3-D guys by the time we are competing for something real.
I don't mind bringing in professionals as long as we provide ample time to the young guys. There is a balance between granting kids privilege of starters minutes before they try on their jersey and making them prove through clear and convincing evidence that they are the better player after and only after February. If we can move Lee around all-star break for an EC and a future SRP then that's the biggest win. Building winning culture is important.

We're gonna see a whole bunch of 1 year deals handed out this summer, I'm guessing.
Mills/Perry aren't looking to commit to any player. All bets are on next summer.

Lee for Faried if Nuggs are willing. Solves PF and backup PF, clears a spot in the guard glut.
Knicks have the following guards on the team:
Frank/Burke/Mudiay/THJr/CLee/Dotson/Baker/Trier - that's 8/17 roster spots - 15 and 2 two way. That's probably 2 too many guards

Why the fuq not?
Cause he's not bad. He's a good 2b (hoping Knox can become 2a). He fits the uptempo pace we want to play.
That being said, he's probably going to look pretty bad at the beginning of the year because he's going to have to be option 1.

Yeah I peeped that on MSG’s page. Kinda uncharacteristically bold to throw that out there...

Timmy is going to show how good he really is this coming season. Fiz is going to help him unlock his talent.

Kanter will not opt out. If he does sign J Parker.

If Kanter opts out, we can use our cap space to sign a 2 year with TO (for year 2) with BroPez, Okafor, Monroe and basically get the same player (with less overall coolness). Imagine Fiz with Okafor after experience with Gasol.

No thanks, hard pass.
Would rather go after Grant.
That would be cool but he'll cost more, don't you think?
I doubt that Grant would cost more. If he wants more than $5 mil for 2 years then its a hard pass. We do need a rebounder though who plays hard defense. That's why I liked Vanderbilt in the draft. Maybe Hicks can improve enough?
I never realized just how injury prone Vanderbilt is. He's already had 3 injuries to his left foot and now i just saw that he has a cast on his right foot. Dude has serious feet problems.
I would absolutely love to get J.Grant in free agency. He's really growing his game and he's a young guy who would be a great piece for us but not sure we can outbid some other teams for him.
I would still look into getting a future pick/picks for taking on K.Faried to.
I would also look into signing N.Noel to a one year prove yourself deal. If he wants someone to give him a multi year significant offer then he's gonna have to prove himself next year and he's gonna need plenty of playing time to do it and we can definitely give him the playing time.
Still really early to talk free agency cause there will be cuts coming as soon as July hits.

hes 26 and is what he is.which is ok but not enough to live up to that contract. i fully expect them to try to move him the way theyre targeting 2019. im sure it will cost us picks but if they want to come close to competing for real its going to take more than one of the available. we need 2.

I am/was the biggest Timmy fan on this board and even I know this is a lie from the pits of hell.

@ all those names. If Kanter opts out, resign KOQ or go after Noel. No more than 3 years, 7-8 mill to KOQ, if he can get more than that then

to him and let him go too. If Noel, a 1+1 deal Id be fine with. Other potentially cheap FA targets to keep an eye on, Grant & Hezonja. No thanks to Kyle Anderson

I'm liking this Hezonja talk in this thread. I think that kid has the potential to be a 16-18 ppg guy on pretty good efficiency. I also like his mentality overall, it borders on the arrogant but I like guys with a nasty streak to them.
He's really young still and definitely showed some improvement last season. I wonder what his market value is going to be- I'd love to lock him into a 4 year deal around 10 million per if the team can find the money. I'm praying Kanter and O'quinn are gone; both guys are unnecessary to this roster at this current juncture.

Tim to NOLA for Solomon Hill and Alexis Ajinca (waive) and a 2020 top 11 protected pick?

Dear god no. That would kill our max FA money for 2019. No contracts longer than 1 year should be given out.

That would be a blessing. I feel as though it is unlikely as Denver may have explored that during the Mudiay trade.
