I don't see how the Clippers are a better choice than the Knicks. If they signed both Kawhi and KD, then that means they basically traded their whole team away to free up the space.

So if KD is rehabbing for a year, then Kawhi isn't competing for anything. Unless you believe that Kawhi, Lou Williams, and Harrell + vet mins are a championship level team.

We can't look away at the fact that Kawhi wants LA. That's his home. And he's already demanded a trade there. These rumors are basically saying that Durant might be trying to get him to NY. But it can go the other way as well. If they both want this now, I think Kawhi has a bigger say since he will be the one actually playing the first year. So for Kawhi personally, LA is the better choice for happiness.

This explains why Kawhi would go there. It doesn't address why KD would be interested. It certainly doesn't address why he would leave GSW at all if he wants to stay in Cali.

As far as basketball, there are still a step ahead than the Knicks. Better coach too, imo. And they multiple picks come back to them thanks to the Harris trade. Maybe not a championship now, but definitely in year 2 if they get KL and KD.

Knicks are still at the very beginning with their rebuild. No experience. Still question marks on Fiz's coaching abilities.

I still don't understand how you are figuring that they are definitely a championship team in year 2 with KL and KD if they have traded their whole team to get KL and KD. That puts them on the exact same footing as the Knicks. They would just be older players instead of younger players.

Fiz vs Rivers is legitimate, but Doc has mostly underachieved as the Clippers coach.

And Kawhi would essentially be joining Durant's cause even though he'll be benched for 1 full year.

The reverse is also true. Why would KD be so eager to sign up for Kawhi's cause?

This why I said yesterday it's not happening and if so, likely Knicks. I believe Durant is already set on NY. Kawhi is the one that MAYBE could be swayed. Hence the reports about him taking his time to decide.

Just want to say, I don't think this will actually happen. I think they both reached out to each other trying to get one to go to LA or NY. To me, it sounds like a long distance relationship; where neither side wants to make the sacrifice.

I just give the favor to the Clippers. Yes, their players are older. But more experienced. Playing like you've been there before really counts. I mostly give them the favor because Kawhi is healthy, and KD isn't. If these two really want to join forces, it's Kawhi's call.
