Durant makes sense but Curry and Kawhi haven't even been superstars for about half the decade.

besides last season with kawhi - a legit superstar, lowry has only made it to the conference finals once. those playoffs, he averaged 19 PPG on .508 TS%.

i think he's a looooot closer to being a slightly more talented marcus smart (and smart is better defensively) than being the second best player of any decade.

Relax, kitten, Pharm isn't a Raptors fan - he's just playing around. I know you're sore tonight, but have a drink and relax.

ps: Weren't you the guy spamming your hot take that Celtics can't possibly lose the series because they're 50-1 in series where they take a 2-0 lead? (as if prime Russell and Bird were going to come out of the locker room). That was a very intelligent take by you.

If you want an honest discussion about Lowry, this is what he did in the playoffs before Kawhi arrived:

In 2014 against the Nets, he averaged 21.1 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.7 apg on 40.4% from the field and 39.5% from 3. He had a TS% of 56.7%.

In 2015 against the Wizards, he averaged 12.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 4.8 apg on 31.6% from the field and 21.7% from 3. He had a TS% of 39.6%.

In 2016 against the Pacers, he averaged 13.9 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 7.6 apg on 31.6% from the field and 16.3% from 3. He had a TS% of 42.1%.

In 2016 against the Heat, he averaged 23.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 5.9 apg on 40.1% from the field and 38.8% from 3. He had a TS% of 52.4%.

In 2016 against the Cavs, he averaged 20.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.2 apg on 47.4% from the field and 34.8% from 3. He had a TS% of 58%.

In 2017 against the Bucks, he averaged 14.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 5.2 apg on 42.6% from the field and 28.1% from 3. He had a TS% of 54.7%.

In 2017 against the Cavs, he only played 2 games. In those two games, he averaged 20 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 8 apg on 56% from the field and 66.7% from 3. He had a TS% of 69.1%.

In 2018 against the Wizards, he averaged 17.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 8.3 apg on 47.4% from the field and 43.6% from 3. He had a TS% of 61.4%.

In 2018 against the Cavs, he averaged 17.8 ppg, 3.5 apg, 8.8 apg on 57.1% from the field and 45.8% from 3. He had a TS% of 73.7%.

Furthermore, you should also take a look at Lowry defensive rating in some of these series.

He had a 114 DRtg against the Nets, 120 DRtg against the Cavs in 2016, 125 DRtg in 2017 against the Cavs, 128 Dtrg in 2018 against the Cavs.

Lowry is an all star caliber player who can be a key player in helping a team win a championship but he has never been regarded as a top ten player over the past decade or an upper tier player.

The decade is only 2.25 rounds deep. There's a good chance he is overtaken at some point.

I'm not talking about Lowry, I'm responding to this guy who suggests Kawhi and Curry are ahead of lebron on the best player of the decade list.

So how is he better than KD, Curry, and Kawhi?

Let alone MVP's in Giannis and Harden

Not even in top 10 of the decade.

Casual fan detected

Is this the time when we point out to a raptor fan that before last few years Lowry did nothing in playoffs with bad shooting and minimal playmaking from PG position. But it's fine if you have followed the NBA just a few years.

But you are fine correcting him. He wasn't even that impressive last year.

So, you're saying that LeBron and Lowry have been the best players in the NBA since January 1, 2020?

Pharmcat wrote:This dude gets no respect, but he has been a rock for the raptors for the last 9 years or so.

Won a ring, stayed with the team instead of ring chasing, willing to take charges, always a team first player, doesnt get in trouble with the law, doesnt need to have the NBA change its rules so his game can flourish like some other stars have had done.

He has done it all, certified stud

This is some Goebels crap on the general board. Tell a lie a thousand times and it eventually becomes the truth. There are so many Raps fans on this forum (I know op is not one of them, but ppl actually agreeing with him are Raps fans) that all the time you have dozens of threads and posts which are a variation of overestimating Lowry’s capabilities and impact. Then you have the echo chamber phenomenon.

Raps fans here watch only Raps games, it’s so obvious. Wake up dudes, watch some other teams, witnessing this ignorance and bias is very unenjoyable for us non-Raps fans on this board.

The only thing thats detected is that you've only watched Raptor games and nothing else. Now that's casual!

If you watch Hockey (which most Basketball fans don't lol) its the EXACT same thing with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Nothing else exists outside of TO to them

Raptor fans are not Leaf fans.. I personally consider myself a basketball fan with Toronto Raptors being my favourite team.. I don't watch Hockey either .. care less for the Leafs..

Let's say your knowledge on the Raptors is what it is.. I won't say I watch every single NBA game..yes..I do watch all of the Raptor games..but it's safe to say I can make a calculated guess as to which team is better and who is the star player in every team...not every star player brings in the wins..

Talent wise..DeMar is the better player.. but the intangibles that don't show on a score sheet is what Lowry is all about.. go and see who is the all time leader in the different categories on the Raptors..bet you thought it was Vince Carter..lol..

Anywho not sure if OP is correct or not.. at the end of it all..everyone has their own opinion .. right or not.. well it depends on your own opinion on the matter..
