If Walker is healthy, he’s clearly the better player.

Anyone worried that OKC decided not to keep him around and try to rebuild his value or use him to get assets down the road, like they’ve done with a couple other recent bad contract guys? Or are they just doing him a solid?

We've built up good will with OKC and they likely save money with the contract we give him.

Fournier being the 4th option on offense is such a shrewd move im loving it.

Randle, Kemba, RJ and then Fournier. That’s how I see it. The horrendous playoff series aside RJ provided he is a legit NBA talent. Specifically in the 2nd half of games he turns it on. He’s become more consistent with the 3 ball and he attacks the rim. I see Fournier as the guy to spot up from 3 from all the chaos Randle, Kemba and RJ provide.

gotta admit i grumbled at the randle move, then was really grumbling after the start to the off-season, but the fournier and kemba moves make it all make sense. VERY interesting team, tempered excitement here, positivity for the first time in a long time.

Chris Paul is way more established, way more stout physically than Kemba. Chris Paul didn't have a degenerative condition either. Kemba has no cartilage in his knee. He gets stem cell injections to be able to play, run and get out of bed. This, at least with our current medicine just doesn't get better. So "according to everyone" is mostly idiots who don't understand freshman biology.

Is Kemba an upgrade from Elfrid Payton? **** yes. Kemba in a wheelchair with a blindfold is an upgrade. But he's pretty much cooked and this is a nice story, but that's all. Especially with a world class idiot like Thibs manning the minutes.

I don’t know how people can hate this move. He’s not gonna be prime Kemba but we’re also not trading prime assets or paying prime salary or making a huge commitment. It also makes sense cause DRose and Kemba can both hopefully share a healthier load of minutes. Finally, he’s not Elfrid.

On my end, I think we’re going to see if Thibs can keep us at top defensive level with Kemba and Fournier in the loop.

Yet he still averaged about 20 ppg while sharing offensive duties with Tatum and Brown. There’s no way to negatively spin this move for how much we’re paying him

The problem is he keeps getting hurt. In the playoffs he looked like 2014 Raymond felton. If he not healthy this is gonna be bad

high reward if he get healthy and holds up. honestly, both he and rose should be happy with a split of the PG minutes. i can imagine the idea is they give us 48 solid like mitch and noel.

Yes!!!!! I am so pumped. I literally yelled out loud "We got our point guard!" as soon as I read it and my wife was like "Who?!," I yelled back "Kemba" and we were high fiving.

My wife and I are both UConn alumni and we love Kemba. Heck, I hated the Celtics and could not cheer against them when Kemba was on the Roster. That man carried UConn to a national championhip in a way no one comes even close to.

I love this move. He's a true point guard and better than many of the options I would have been ok with. Best of all, we did not have to give up any assets. We still have the assets to make a big trade for a superstar (i.e. all of our 1st round picks, 2 future 1sts from other teams, a few young assets). For those of you who doubt he's a good player, you are just overreacting to his down stretch to wrap up the Celtics season. You guys do this every year and then you conveniently "forget" the hate you were spewing when the guy reverts back to what they are (i.e. Paul George). Kemba did have a down year in Boston but his down year was 19ppg/5apg/4rpg. That is only disappointing relative to the elite all-star point guard the Celtics though they were getting. Relative to Elfrid Payton that is amazing.
