It is conceivable that closing lineups will be:
Barnes
Trent
Dick
Anunoby
Siakam

Or

Schroeder
Trent
Barnes
Anunoby
Siakam

Then that just brings us back to the overpay issue. A barely protected first and 2 seconds for a guy who is unplayable in the 4th Q, for 27mpg is absurd.

What happens to that first is going to drive the value proposition. That is something the Raptors control.

It was, until they made the trade and handcuffed themselves financially by having 3 UFAs that they couldn't re-sign without losing some bench depth at best. It was a bad trade through and through, the weak protections, the significantly sub .500 record at the time, and the uncertainty of FVV all combined to make it a horribly stupid trade.

It was high risk, low reward.

Not sure what that has to do with my hypothetical line-ups but I'm glad you were able to get that off your chest. I hope you feel better now.

The pick is almost certainly going to be in the lottery unless Scottie becomes a superstar this year.

If we trade Siakam, the pick probably ends up in the 5-10 range. If we don't, it probably ends up in the 11-15 range.

Is there a way two good players can co-exist... I dunno, real tough one. How did James and AD co-exist without being great 3 point shooters... Should have traded one. Lol that Barnes can only be a smallball C. This forum is the worst I've ever seen for BBIQ right now.

There is no way these two can't co-exist.

You suggested that the raptors have some semblance of control over to the FRP. They don't and that is what I was expressing.

Hurr hurr it's easy for 2 "good" players to coexist guys, you only need one of them to be the second greatest player in NBA history. Should be real easy, Siakam is right on the cusp of that. Yet another brilliant and well thought out post.

Sure, just move any goalposts you want. It's not their 3 point shooting now. Not sure which is worse, your BBIQ, objectivity, or just general all around intelligence. Actually I do know which it is, rhetorical question.

And as soon as this team is good again, you will just slime your way away out the door again in shame like last time.

Apart from being a top-3 player of all time, LeBron is also a much better 3pt shooter than either of those guys and bubble AD was unconscious from mid-range and an unstoppable lob threat. Neither Barnes nor Siakam can do much of anything off-ball

Almost the entire reason you all are saying they can't play together is their lack of 3 point shooting.

That two players that don't shoot threes well can't play together. Like it's never happened before and there aren't any other less famous countless examples? It's mostly Barnes that's holding both of them back, being the worse shooter, but nobody wants to say anything about that, it's basically dropped on Siakam. Giannis/Jrue/Middleton? Butler/Adebayo?

The best part of OPs post is that it shouldn't just be handed to Barnes.

Lakers became very good despite limited shooting and their offense was very paint oriented with AD. Though we are certainly another level of bad in terms of shooting
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

it's called being proactive instead of reactive. and least i one upped your daddy Masai Ujiri in that regard

you think you're all smart and special thinly walking the fine line of what's permitted on here as if you've decoded 4000 year old hieroglyphics lmao

Whatever the truth is, it looks like the organization has decided they can't work together. Either Pascal gets traded (I grade that a 75% chance), or Scottie goes out for Dame (25%). There appears to be no chatter or evidence of a willingness to consider the status quo.

It ain't hard. I guess it all depends on who it's compared to. I don't know what you mean... getting banned is proactive? Feel free to explain. Or you can just PM me if you like.

Anyway... these two can play together just fine and it will probably work out better surrounded by better shooters. Like other teams that are in the same boat. and there's tons of time for Barnes to improve. Siakam was a good 3 point shooter 2nd option when he was shooting from the corners as a 2nd option. So if Barnes ever does take the lead, its going to be alot better for Siakam.

Remember that old song “1 of these things doesnt belong here, one of these things isnt the same”.

Og - barnes - siakam are the opposite of that. Theyre too much alike. Pick any two out of the three and itll work.

Og is high character to a t. He just wants the opportunity to improve and that only happens in game.

Most any other scenario, a team would give a young guy the chance to learn and grow from his mistakes.

Og was patient during the run and then he got passed over by barnes 20 games into barnes’ career.

Og has a legit gripe and hes still being a good citizen.

Guys, we can work with that. There's a BIG difference between a guy who can't shoot at all and a guy who's capable of shooting .350 from three.

He’s a below average 3 point shooter.

He was only making one 3 per game when he shot 37% from the 3 so you can’t even include that in good faith.

2019-2020 was the only year where he was a legitimate 3 point shooter. It’s been down hill since then.

So it has been downhill since Nurse driven the team to the ground with 40 mins a night then? I guess I could have some hope...

Then usage.

O.G. wants more opportunities. Scottie needs more opportunities. With Fred gone and Pascal here, is their enough ball for Scottie, O.G. and Pascal? If Scottie doesn't start at PG, Gary goes to the bench. Does he sign an extension if he thinks he will be a bench player?

If Scottie starts at PG, usage may work out so everyone is happy. Not sure about money working out.

Everyone has to buy into the team concept. That's on the coaching staff.
