I think Wendell has retained his value after the last couple of games. I think I might target Olynyk and Clarkson for Wendell and Fultz. That's probably a fair trade straight up.

Jett + Fultz + Den 25 for Murray has 4 years left at 114M
or
Fultz, Den 25 for Tyus Jones bird rights and would hopefully ink a deal immediately.
or
Fultz + Denver 25 for Malcolm Brogdon has 1 year left at 22.5M
AND
Gary Harris 2 2nds for Luke Kennard has 1 year left at 14.7M
Okeke & a 2nd for Alex Burks who is an expiring
Magic go get a proper Guard who can run an offense with one of the first trades and then follows it up with bench depth either for this year/next year. I'd go for the bolded options but would easily throw quite a bit for Murray just don't know what that would need to make work. Felt like an expiring + propsect + 1st round pick would be a good haul. Would possibly include WCJ if that was what they were asking for but would then remodel the trade.
Jett + Fultz + Den 25 for Murray - Like you said Hawks will want more. They would and should ask for either Suggs or Black,WCjr and picks. They have no reason to tank
Fultz, Den 25 for Tyus Jones- Absolutely. I think other teams are going to be bidding for him so we may have the up the offer to our first rounder this year. Or Jett
Fultz + Denver 25 for Malcolm Brogdon - same as above I think teams are going to be bidding for him. Will probably have to up the offer.
Gary Harris 2 2nds for Luke Kennard - Probably? Any reason why the Grizz would be looking to just give him away like that?
Okeke & a 2nd for Alex Burks - I would but not sure how much that moves the needle.

The Brogdon one seems to be the most likely to make something work IMO. Portland has a gluttony of guards & no legit cap space unless they dump Grant's contract which they could do with a top 5 24 pick.
Burks would be to get some more consistent shooting depth off the bench but I agree it doesn't move the needle by itself. Would be a follow-up trade if we made any of the 1st option moves. Okeke has played alright and I guarantee the FO just let's him expire and continue to be luke warm/freezing cold.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

I think the pick is needed to make OKC give up on these 2 guys. Value wise im not sure its required.
What?! Where do I sign?

I think BTRK is generally a smart guy, but on what planet is Fultz actually any of these things?

He’s a shot creator in terms that he brings ball up and gives to Paolo stands in corner. Him being on the court being 0 threat creates/forces others to shoot more

He creates a clutch situation out of thin air and lets others shine!

I think Fultz has been/can be those things and BTRK has had some good breakdowns on them over the seasons, but there's no freaking way he doesn't see that Fultz isn't those things NOW.

Here’s the issue. That’s what Paolo is. That’s what we want him to be elite at. Thats who we’re building around and it’s shown to be a winning team with. That’s what Franz is too to some lesser degree. Can’t have 3 closers all together who all need the ball to make plays.

Markelle would have to atleast consistently be available to play for losing him to disrupt anything.
Him not being reliably available is the biggest issue with shooting coming in at a close second.
Our young stars are on their way to ascension but will have some highs and lows, they would be best served with being supported with stable veteran teammates.
We need to stop this “will he or won’t he play” **** with our supporting players.

I’m going to depressed if we don’t make a semi-major move (without giving up the 4 core young guys). This place might be insufferable for a while.

Are you talking about AB? I don’t agree with what the dude tweeted nor am I a Fultz guy but I think it’s fair to say we’ve physically seen Fultz create offense going to the basket when it’s needed. Murray being 3&D guy alone IS a drastic enough change imo. Because we don’t have one at the point.

I recall during the Dwight era early on we thought we would make a move when in reality we got chips and just let what we had finish baking and added a free agent.
I'm not as big on who is in free agency these days. Similarly, I have no clue what our organization is doing or prioritizing at this point. We have 2 1st round picks this year that IMHO have to be offloaded unless we are looking for bigs on the cheap.
We are literally too top heavy with youth. This is why someone savvy like Joe Ingles can just put his feet on the floor and suddenly it's as if we become another team.
Isaac, has reached that level of mysticism in his own way as well. All he has to do is be out there and the defense is just immediately improved.
But when such key glue guys are oft injured, combined with way too much youth, and ALL your vets are injury prone outside of that. We have the chaos that is us going through the roughest stress where every weakness, including veteran depth is exposed.
I'm still thinking we are a playoff team and we are about to turn a big corner. Houstan / Okeke are not done cooking and will go back to deep bench. Okeke might be done in the NBA after that this stint.
WCJ / Fultz are starting to at least gain some NBA lungs back even though Fultz isn't to form.
Paolo
Franz
WCJ
Suggs
Fultz
Are going to have a swan song. No trade will be done. When Franz starts playing, someone will drop a "Return of the King" screen cap. Vegas will declare it an automatic win and so on.

No, talking about Fultz, specifically the current Fultz we have not the one who finished last year because they're 2 completely different players.
In transition sure he can create offense because that's when he's at his best at, getting downhill and to the basket.
In the 1/2 court, it'll be a lot of what we saw last night. Handoff's and then he floats to the corner or top of the three.

Re: Official 2023-2024 Magic Trade Ideas Thread 2.0
I personally don't think we should do any major moves at the deadline. A small deal that gets us a PG is all I think we should do at the deadline. If the Tyus Jones rumor has legs then sure. Even with him though if it turns to a bidding war Im not willing to go multiple picks for him. Fultz and our first is the max. I know things are falling apart a bit but going into the year the play in is what we all were shooting for. We are still on pace to do that. Injuries have played a huge part. I don't think now is the time to go crazy.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Making a desperate move would be unacceptable, we agree there. I just feel like the days of big FA acquisitions are pretty much over. Trades are the name of the game if you’re not LA it seems.

Agreed. I think we have a more clear picture in the off-season for trades. Alot of people want Murray. Im not opposed to him as a player but I believe it will cost alot to get him and Im just not sure about that kinda deal at the deadline when were struggling. Is Suggs 100% untouchable? Cause the Hawks are going to want him. If he is then they will want Black,Jett and multiple first. Are we already ready to move off Black? These are questions I don't think we should answer in February.thelead wrote:IllMagic04 wrote:I personally don't think we should do any major moves at the deadline.
