I don’t mind if RJ goes the way of GTJ and take a much smaller contract.

Lol yes. We just need to do it at a lower average.
He won't take it so we wait

There's taking a smaller contract and then there's "at the minimum then going slightly above it" like Trent did.

This was a stupid statement that I just saw on ESPN. Dame could definitely be back next year but it'd be right before the playoffs if he wants to go that route. Hes 35 years old and the body doesnt heal as fast as your ego wants it to.

And RJ is a much much better player than Trent.

Why would Toronto do that?

They would not.
I could see them biting on Pat + draft capital for RJ if for no other reason than it freeing up touches for Scottie/Ingram/Quickley or even Collins + 1st for RJ to free up money next season/freely re-sign Ochai but Ayo is going to be in the same situation here as he was with the Bulls i.e. stuck on a team drowning in guards, namely SGs.

Kinda bad no one is outperforming their contract. You can argue everyone is either playing near the level of their pay or their are overpaid.
That IQ contract is pretty bad unless he breaks out into a clear Maxey level star (doubt it)

Knicks firing Thibs who coached them to their best success in 25 years for Mike Brown is just hilarious lol

We should probably try to extend Ochai to a deal that’s lower than the MLE for multiple years. He had a chance to be a value contract guy

If he actually does come back, I would expect it to be earlier than that. If he ended up getting cleared closer to April, I would expect him to just sit out the year. Ramping up just before playoff time to play at playoff intensity would seem like a very bad idea especially when considering how he got hurt in the first place.
