What have we done THIS OFFSEASON, that says our goal is still to WIN NOW?

We tried to back up the dump truck of cash for JR Smith, then offered the ~15th best PG in the league $30 million dollars.

We never made an offer to JR, we were linked to every single PG and SG because we only had one on roster.

Its been really quite with Jennings and no BP either.

I would say it looks like Jennings is going to be back next season and the next Bucks new will be his deal.

Source?

I know it has been rumored that Charlotte is attempting to move him, but haven't seen anything regarding the Bucks.

I will try to find the tweet, it was just tweeted earlier that the Bucks are targeting Henderson.

* I have no idea how to post tweets, but it is from this guy:

Mitch Vomhof ‏@mitchvomhof

saying on WSSP that the Bucks may be a team interested in Gerald Henderson with their extra cap space.

Someone else confirmed the Bucks are in fact going after Henderson. Forgot who though.

Absolutely it's win now. It's not just the moves they've made. It's what they've tried to do and failed on as well. The Teague acquisition was "win now" vs. bringing back Jennings. If we were tanking, we would not have signed Mayo. And finally, Ersan would not be a Buck right now if we hoped to lose games. We're rolling with the same flaming bag of poop that we have for the last 3 years when we achieved 8/9 seeds.

Bringing in Teague now in my eyes does not mean win now, he is a 25 yr old who has room to grow. That seems Win Later to me.

Mayo is the same, he is a win later signing, not a win now signing.

When the replacements are better than the incumbents, that's the definition of trying to win now. You're bad at this.

I think we did go win now and botched it BUT because we stuck to our guns and didn't really overpay too much or too long.

Which for the record I am ok with. We took our shot, and missed, so hopefully the plan b is the tank.

This board was an hour late on it....

Steve Aschburner was on WSSP with Ted Davis about an hour ago and said the Bucks were "rumored" to be on the teams interested in Henderson with their remaining cap space.

But I didn't sense there was anything strong to it.

Is it really?

Win Now means go for being a contender.

I am under the interpretation that the moves we made simply make us a better team, but not only now, but for the future as well. That is what is most unlike any other off season the for the Bucks the last 25 years.

We are mildly improving now, but have a very bright future.

I have an assumption.

Smith signed for around 4m less per year then what all of you guys thought he would sign for.

For most teams win now means contending. For the Bucks it means 8th seed. Remember our win now trade for Redick last year? That wasn't going to make us a contender.

This.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

It's like the Bucks PR dept have decided one focus this off-season is to generate more fan interest and support of the team and one mode is through social media/message boards where they hope to sell the propaganda they're all forced fed when they're hired. Get a **** clue.

I have been a fan since 1994.

I support my team to the end. The same most good fans would. It is done for the Packers and Brewers, even though the Brewers are one of the worst MLB teams in the history of the game as a franchise (not just this season). The Packers are obviously the golden team of the state, but even from the 70's and 80's when they sucked, they had much better support then what the Bucks get.

Bottom line, I cheer for my team, I love my team. And if you do not, that is your business. Just do not go thinking I have to hate the Bucks because all of you do.

I have been a Bucks fan since I was very young. Rooting for a team that would routinely finish in last place and get their *** beat by MJ's Bulls every year. I enjoyed the 1998-2001 Bucks teams more than anything. But I got older and wiser. Understanding the way this organization operates infuriates me. I am sick and tired of 8th seed championships.

Keep proudly rooting for mediocrity. Herb Kohl and cronies thank you for your blind loyalty and your money.

Calm down. You're the one that called out his fandom, then insulted and proceeded to label the guy a Bucks "cronie" just because he has a different opinion than you. I don't agree with his view either, but the amount of pessimism on this board is nauseating.

The Bucks need a culture change as bad as any franchise in pro sports, but all things considered, this offseason hasn't been nearly the "disaster" that a lot of people are overreacting about. We shed some bad contracts, rid ourselves of the "swag twins", drafted a young prospect with loads of potential, and haven't made any big FA signings that will cripple us for years (Salmons, Gooden, etc.). And the organization seems to finally be fully committed to the Henson and Sanders front court of the future.

Does that all add up to an "A" offseason grade? Hell no, but considering how deep of a hole the FO dug itself, it definitely hasn't been a failure.

This.

Kohl's definition of "win now" is making the playoffs.

Then there is Hammond referencing "serving 2 masters"

That was a terrible move, along with the signing of Gooden, I feel hammond has made two terrible moves.

Ironically the trade for Redick then made the trade back which we took Tobes a bad move as well.

I agree, in the past this franchise has been whack.

But this off season they have been disciplined. They brought in no nonsense high class vets in Zaza, Ridnour, and Delfino, all for a good price.

They brought in a good piece in Mayo, who had the ability to break out, lets not forget he was a #3 pick, and has immense pressure on him. What better place to break out and dodge pressure then a small town with little media?

Going after Teague to me is another add to the young core move.

And Bucks will be all proud of their signing off scrap heap. OK w/ Henderson if 18/3 or less. Start him at SG and Mayo at PG ala Ellis and Ridnour as 3rd G. Worst backcourt D in the league.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
