There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

He has no ability there so as a coach you either protect him by going to his strengths or you bench him until he improves his weaknesses.
Not sure who you think Josh Jackson is but he's not an iso player and there's no pt in judging him as that. In college he got opportunities all over the court and did something with them--sometimes he'd get a hand-off and drive to the cup, sometimes he'd do an in/out to get to a stepback, sometimes he'd dish to a big, etc. The argument for him is that he helps with everything and is a great motion player who picks up tempo on offense, plays good D, drives and kicks, rebounds well on both sides for a wing, etc.
Seems like you're saying he won't be a 20-pt scorer as though it's some kind of expose. I get that it might not be exciting to take a potential 14/7/4 guy at #3 but the argument for that pick is about who's the best player not who has the best chance to score 50 once or twice in his career.

No one knows what sort of wing defender he will be, he was a college PF remember? I can show you videos of Juwan Evans and De'aaron Fox taking him off the dribble for layups... People conceed that he isn't an isolation scorer, but when did he become a peremeter defender? That wasn't his role. He didn't have to do that full time. He just said in a video posted that he has a 6'8" wingspan.

She said "81 inches" with equals 6'7.5, however it didn't appear that he was completely extended. At least he's self aware of his T-Rex arms.
Edit: I'm an idiot.

You do know simple measurements, right?

How could 81 inches come out to .5 inches lol. It's 6'9".
Literally in 5 seconds goes from saying he skipped the combined to avoid bad information getting out there to letting this random reporter give him a crappy wingspan measurement on video. What is he thinking?

Jackson is a great prospect. His size and speed is a unique combination that allows him to impact the game in many ways. How many players can drive past his defender and finish strong like he does. Ball movement is going to be important to the sixers and Jackson provides that in so many ways.

His size is unique for someone in conversation for being a top pick just like Evan Turner's size was unique. #shortarmgang

Probably the same thing he was thinking when he streamed himself bricking 3s in an empty gym: "Please God, let the Celts and Lakers pass on me so I can play for the Sixers."

Normally I would blame the agent for this sort of stuff but BJ Armstrong is generally pretty good. Between this and some of his off the court stuff it seems like he's a decent bit more immature than some of the other people we've drafted recently. (Though okafor seemed like the most mature of any of them, and we all remember how his rookie year went, so who knows)

Interesting quote from Brandon Williams, speaking on developing Sean Kilpatrick, giving insights to what we are looking for and what we are training guys to do:
Perhaps this is just in the context of Kilpatrick's development. But I think it reads broader than that.
“[Sean Kilpatrick] was another player that people, if they’re honest, said the same thing: 6-4, 200, not athletic, a scorer, not a shooter,” Williams said. “Everybody passed. I got him in a trade. I chased him. And I got him. And my message to him was we’re going to create a brand around an identifiable skill. It’s not scoring; it’s going to be shooting.
“You have to be a shooter who knows how to score a little bit. And we worked at it. And I told him, it’s going to take longer than you think. There were days that he was frustrated and didn’t want to come back. But there was a real buy-in."
Perhaps this is just in the context of Kilpatrick's development. But I think it reads broader than that.

So nobody commenting on the Sacramento guy with sources claiming the talks with Sixers are 3 and Okafor for 5, a 2nd, and Richardson?
Lol that would be bad value.
Also, as to why prospects aren't being worked out. Could it be because we have settled on trading the pick for a player, or trading down and already know who we want at 5?
Also, sources (green font) say Josh Jackson has grown a full 4 inches and is now 7'0, and has improved his shooting to KD levels....

Josh Jackson has been promised - has worked out for Lakers in LA. Has not worked out for Phoenix yet. It could be Philly but likely Lakers.

Phoenix Suns reporter. Pretty credible according to Sun's fans, he's broken some few Suns trades apparently.

Jackson to the Lakers stings. From a player archetype perspective, he's likely to be the most impactful player in this draft.
On the bright side, we get the most transcendent freshman in college basketball last year and he's the most seamless fit into Brett Brown's motion offense (no pick and roll run) and most seamless fit with Embiid and Simmons (extremely low usage, knockdown catch and shoot from three at volume).

Lonzo isn't an Okafor-esque kill my whole night pick but man I'm gonna be underwhelmed.

I'm not even that mad. I don't think he's a particularly good individual player but he fits plus we get Lavar chicanery 365 days a year.
