they don't have anything interesting. Even Jamal and Porter are becoming wildcards.

I would NOT be surprised if OG expressed this etc. they are human and it would be foolish to keep thinking players aren't doing what is best for their own careers.

doesn't mean he wants to leave either. just saying whats on his mind etc.

I could definitely see that happening in those cases but it doesn't really apply here. OG's shots and usage have only been going up the past 3 seasons and reached career high marks in 2022. I think that's why there's a lot of skepticism about this "report"/rumour.

Definitely not adding a pick, but I am open to considering this as per my post on the last page. I am very high on Kuminga and would love to pair him and Scottie together for at least the next 4 years. Their averaged combined salary in that period would be about $14 M on average, so you could still pay FVV and GTJ (or pay whoever you trade them for).

Imagine letting Precious, Kuminga and Scottie grow together. Even 10 years from more they would only be 32, 30 and 29 years old! You'd need a lot of shooting at the guard spots, but those 3 would be super switchable and long. All have shown the ability to develop more from three (Precious in particular). They could be the next Tatum-Brown-R.Williams combo.

No need to talk. Herro is not playable in decisive playoff games due to his defense. Yurtseven gets played entirely off the court.

Except the return for Trent wouldn’t be close to what we could get for OG. Also we need more naturally gifted scorers like Trent, not less

If we’re looking to acquire a big and some young shooters to balance out the roster that’s only going to be accomplished by giving up a very talented but somewhat redundant piece like OG

Especially if he’s going to command close to the max and isn’t happy with his role. That’s a recipe for losing him for nothing

Shouldn’t trade OG period. Lockdown defender at one of the most stacked positions in the league. Plus he has range. Pascal should be the trade bait not OG.

We’re still gonna do this. Alright.

All of this speculation is based on one guy’s article that literally said other league executives are speculating that he wants out but nothing has come straight from OG’s camp. Now the same dude jumps on… a podcast… and exaggerates a little bit but basically repeats the same exact thing in article. And suddenly, “rumours are swirling” that “OG wants out” and multiple teams are interested in sending back absolutely nothing in return for a guy who “wants out” .. based on one dude quoting rival executives who think OG might want out.

What the f*** are we doing here?

i don't think they are. Masai is building a 6'8"-6'9" team of defensive monsters. they aren't looking for balance when it comes to true size or shooters. OG, Siakam, Barnes, Precious are here to stay to play together imho. i can see them getting rid of FVV and Trent before anything else happens.

Why are so many teams openly chasing OG? ...Something has to be up with all these rumors flying.....I think Masai might be shopping him to the highest bidder right now with how the news cycle is hitting but who knows

If OG wants a bigger role he's probably going to have to go to a rebuilding team. I only really want to trade him if we get an amazing offer. He's one of our more consistent 3 pt shooters

I would much rather trade FVV to free up more opportunity for OG. And if push came to shove, I think Masai would think the same. Move Scottie to PG, and roll with a Barnes/Trent Jr./OG/Siakam/Achiuwa lineup.

OG had a career high ~15 FGA per game last year. He needs a more diversified offensive game in order to deserve more usage, IMO. Also, he needs to play more games if wants to be a more focal part of the offense.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

might be true but still there aren't many trades out there that we would accept. I think it's a tough trade to facilitate because we either need the best player from that trade or a top prospect.

Kuminga and Wiseman under our development staff sounds awfully tempting..

I love OG but would be tempted to pull the trigger on that one.

Kuminga in years to come could be the go-to scorer we all know we need, with Barnes the high IQ playmaker and closer. Wiseman provides the big man presence we're looking for even if he never justifies being a #1.

Awwwwfullly tempting

what in the world are you talking about? what is everyone yapping about with this stuff about OG's role diminishing.

Here are some facts:

Raptors Regular season USG% last year:

1. Pascal (25.8)
2. FVV (23.7)
3. GTj (21.8)
4. OG (20.5)
5. Scottie (19)

Raptors playoff USG last year:

1. Pascal (24.2)
2. GTj (21.8)
3. OG (21.2)

Raptors FGA reg season last year:

1. pascal (17.8)
2. fred (16.9)
3. GTj (15.5)
4. OG (14.5)

Raptors FGA playoffs last year:

1. pascal (17.8)
2. OG (13.7)
3. GTj (13.7)
4. fvv (13.5)
5. Scottie (10.5)

OG FGA reg season career

2017 4.7
2018 6.0
2019 8.2
2020 12.1
2021 14.5

and as for his touches decreasing throughout the year yeah well guess what we started th season without our All-NBA #1 offensive option and OG stepped up and showed he could produce as many of us expected he would. And then Pascal came back and his touches went down. Big whoop. big surprise.

But somehow despite the steady increase in his FGA and USG year over year, and just because the other 3 top scorers on the team get a measly 1 more fGA per game (GTj) or 2 (FVV) or 3 (pascal) in the regular season (but not in the playoffs where he was tied for #2 USG) that out of all that you somehow conclude that his role is diminishing and that he is unhappy because what - he wants to be a 1st option on a sh&tty team instead of a major offensive role on a highly balanced team that is going to be a contender next year? all based on an article that ADMITTED it had no evidence whatsoever for this invented unhappiness and that it was pure conjecture? and this is worth 50 pages as other media hacks riff with more BS on that original BS article?

like wtf?

moreso his role down the stretch of the season and can see where he will end up on the heirarchy of things. its obvious Barnes will now have more of the ball in his hands moving forward. you and i can tell this will be Barnes team moving forward. even if OG was the "third" option going into the season this season, Barnes has already supplanted him because of his ball handing and decision making.

don't need a genius to tell you that your role is going to be diminishing once a higher ceiling playing comes into the system.
