Maybe traded for the 40th pick?

OKC have a ton of picks they can't use.

Blazers punted the second round?

Ok then...guess it's only Clingan this year if we traded it to OKC.

DeBlazerRiddem wrote:So boring. It's probably not a bad idea to get our guy and trade out of this draft but Clingan was such a boring pick and it sucks seeing us not take swings at younger talent.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the roster we have today is basically what we are going into the season with. The Vulcans love this play both sides thing with vets and young players.

IDK... I think most picks were boring picks. Who did you want? I think a pie in the sky scenario has Clingan turning into a Marc Gasol type guy. Which is pretty damn good for this draft.

I mean.. the #1 pick in this draft looks like a worse version of prime Batum.

nobody reported Portland trading the 40th pick to OKC, which then traded the 40th pick to NYK, who then then traded the 40th pick to the Suns?

Sometimes you have to talk about random topics rather than the actual draft happening.

I'm guessing we traded it for future 2nd round picks? OKC has 20 future 2nd round picks...

I would assume there would also be cash involved then.

I think it was a mistake trading the #34.

The Blazers have plenty of seconds after the GP trade. This draft has REALLY good talent in this range. McCullar could be really good. Blazers still lack shooting from the bigs. Djurisic could help the team. Shoot, even Kolek would have a role as a mistake free backup PG for the Blazers.

Why? No one's forced to watch it. Some people enjoy it. I don't see why it shouldn't be aired unless I'm missing something?

Meanwhile, ESPN's worst draft coverage of all time in any sport is talking about Bronny James...who wouldn't even be a draft prospect except for who his Dad is. Hope someone drafts him out of spite and calls his bluff on playing in Australia forever if it's not the Lakers.

Ya, it seems they are attached to the current 'bleh' squad of 'meh' youngsters on the team. I would take like 10-15 guys in the SR over Kris and while he is a hard worker I dont assign much value to Walker either - just too ground bound and stiff, and I dont think the 3 is developing.

I don't love it either. But I don't really know what is going on with this franchise right now. This roster is a mismash of weirdness. They need to move Simons and Grant. I think last years second round players showed enough to not want to move off them. I have to look at the roster again, but I don't know exactly who to let go to make room for a 2nd round guy.

I think we always think this way though. But let's be real... chances are extremely high that all these 2nd rounders look exactly like the current crop of meh youngsters. If that wasn't the case, we'd see more impact from 2nd rounders more often. I'd argue that over 90% of these guys are at a minimum 2 years away from making any impact in a decent team's rotation. When they come out and look lost/underwhelming. We'll say the same thing in the 2nd round of 2025.

Hot take - Durisic ends up with a better career than Riascher.
