How about Kris Dunn? Young defensive PG that plays the passing lane well. Bulls are expected to draft another PG which means he is fighting for minutes between coby white, satoransky and a projected killian Hayes.

Trading him for DJ could get it done
We then trade Bledsoe for Terrance Ross and we immediately boost our bench

He's a RFA (so why would CHI take DJ in any S&T), has a lot of suiters and he can't shoot...

I'd probably rather just get Sato. Not really sure I buy them drafting another PG either.

I'm warming to the idea of of a Bledsoe for Ross plus picks deal if its on the table assuming we can sign a vet pg like DJ in the offseason. Any way that Orlando does this?

Would people feel comfortable handing out a max contract to Oladipo? Assuming you're giving the super-max to Giannis, that's over $110 million in annual salary between just 3 guys for the next 4-years minimum. Unless you're advocating him as a one-year rental that could help us win a chip then leave in free agency, I don't get why he'd be a better option than CP3 given what you'd likely need to fork over asset-wise.

I'm not even sure he can still be a good player, much less a max player. This has Final Gilbert Arenas Contract potential.

Gary Harris buy low? He's fallen off the last two years for some reason, maybe a fresh surrounding will help, unless there is something physical I'm not aware of with him. still only 26. Bledsoe and his contracts line up fairly close. Maybe Denver would want Bled's D, but more likely I think they'd look to reroute to save money and tax, if they're in it. I think they'd rather keep Monte Morris so this could free up money to pay him instead of Harris.

I'd also take Morris if they decide they can't sign long term.

Oladipo is tough one. I get we have to take a swing but that one seems risky, but it does have big home run chances on it too

Was looking through hoopshype contracts and it didn’t list him as a RFA.

You know Hammond. He loves plugging in veterans over youth

Oladipo is too much damaged goods at this point, he'd be a way bigger risk than a guy like CP3 while not being half the player. Letting Brogdon go is looking like a bigger mistake this offseason than last, think I'd rather have Malcolm going forward.

Letting Brogdon go and not getting the trade exception was never a position one could defend. Even if you’re not a fan of the player that’s another trade asset in your back pocket right now.

Well not right now unless they stopped the clock on exceptions. Would have expired over the summer.

I got the Brogdon decision based on everything and long term cap, injuries, etc. They also did ok with replacements like Hill and Wes, and were correct in their judgment that DDV was good and able to play lots of mins. But still, at winning point like they're in they should've paid up and sorted out later in regards to tax.

I also got how you had to sign Bled when he was willing to do it, bird in the hand and all. But that's where if you're facing the tax later you could trade him. Figure it out down the line.

I am pretty sure Trade Exceptions last for 2 years ... if not used they expire
So it could have been used this offseason.
This is why Morrey and Ujiri and some other GMs are paid 5-8 Mil per ... cause they wouldn't miss a 20M TPE , among their other abilities to build a Champ Roster, or be creative in contracts and trades

I thought the TPE for Brog was only $12m, but yes, inexcusable.

I like the idea of Harris personally. I saw some scuttlebutt today that Denver is hoping to get Jrue this offseason though and I assume Gary would be a part of that.

I doubt there is anything to that Harden rumor but I would do that in a heartbeat.
