Just checking in — are you still interested in trading Cameron Payne to better balance your roster? If so, what are you looking for in return? Who knows, maybe we could do business again! :D

Yes, still looking to trade him. Ideally, I would like to package him with another young guy in exchange for a player ready to impact right now - a wing or a PF.
Looking at your current roster, I don't see much that could fit my needs, realistically. Maybe Stanley Johnson?
Otherwise, we can keep your interest in mind and include him in a 3 way deal down the road

I figured it was unlikely, but thought I'd ask. Thanks again, and feel free to keep me in mind down the road like you said.

Hey Spears,

Just taking your temperature on something, and to be honest this idea actually made me throw up a little bit in my mouth when I thought of it! :D

I saw you post that you'd deal Stauskus for a future 2nd. And I also saw that you've got no back up to Adams. And I've been looking to trade back into the 2nd round. Put them all together and you get the following utterly despicable idea —

Boban Marjanovic & a future 2nd (either 2018 or 2019) for Nik Stauskus, Kyle Singler and #48

I don't wanna commit to this yet, but I thought I'd throw it out there and get your thoughts (especially as the game has hit a lull again and I'm bored). I know this is the worst sales pitch ever, but if you hate this idea as much as I do then it probably means it's got legs! :D

He traded Singler, Grant and T. Jones to Milwaukee for Anderson, Hawes and #48

I'm honestly kinda glad to hear that!

Spearsy — we could still talk about Stauskus, but it'll probably be tough 'cuz I don't have the cap space to absorb him for just a 2nd. Feel free to let me know if you have any thoughts.

Yeah, I've been debating on whether or not I should stretch him for a younger wing. It all depends on how the rest of the draft pans out and free agency. I onlyh took him on to get Grant and Jones (who was already flipped for pick #35). Grant fills the stretch 4 void left by trading Teletovic for 15% of the cost.

Evening, xS!

See you've got two second rounders coming up; any interest in doing something small for one of 'em? I've got a pu pu platter of minor assets I'm happy to discuss, including future 2nds if you wanna "kick the can down the road." Thanks and I hope you're having a good night!

Stauskas got salary dumped for an unguaranteed contract. Sorry, I really should update my roster page, but I've been on mobile so I wanted to do it all at once after the draft.

Also, come on man, never get desperate enough to take Kyle back

41st... but I guess the Clippers won't be the only franchise that needs a new GM because the Hornets are offline as well as it seems

I'm assuming neither accepts anything less than a full max deal so...

We're talking both having salaries starting at ~$24M going up 8% per year for a total of ~$110M over 4 years.
That's based on a 120% of previous year salary for Blake and a 25% cap figure for Porter because he won't qualify for 30% any time soon, though if you're up for it you can put in 30% raise if he makes MVP/All-NA.
I'm no CBA guru so please don't feel bad about correcting me if I'm way off.

I'm no CBA guru myself. If BG signs the full max, the Wizards would have to add more salary for the trade itself to be satisfied which was already established.

AFAIK he qualifies for a raise upto 120% of his final year's salary which from the numbers is ~$24.5M. I'm not sure what's required for him to qualify for 30%-35% of cap max considering he doesn't have 2 All-NBA's in last 3 season and no MVP's... so I'm not certain he can qualify for that at all.

In which case his starting salary becomes $24.5M (120% of the last year of his previous deal) with 8% annual raises.
Porter IS however eligible for 25% to 30% of the cap (only going to 30% if he meets the criteria), so you can stipulate that if he makes All-NBA 1st team and/or MVP next year (both won't happen, obviously, but may give him additional incentive to agree to the S&T), then he gets the 30% instead of 25%.
