I’m far from a middleton fan but you got a long ways to go before you can even consider calling scoreboard on this one.

Drummond signing with Lakers. The buyout rules need to 100% be changed. This teaming up is honestly ruining the league

There shouldn’t even be guaranteed contracts, NBA probably deserves it the least of any major sport but they have it

Re: ATL - 2021 Buyout market Dieng to sign with Spurs
I'm not worried about the buyout market at all. It's just a bunch of old guys whose teams didn't even care if they left. SAS is probably gonna make the playoffs and they waived LMA to save $7m. The real issue is the soft cap and the max contracts. AD couldn't force his way to LAL if they had to pay Lebron what he was really worth.
The Nets are basically the Packers of the NFL - all but guaranteed to get absolutely lit the **** up like a Christmas tree at some point in the playoffs against a great team. The only reason I'm not ready to bet my retirement savings against them is because I'm not sure there will be a great team in this year's playoffs. There's only one ball and there's a point of diminishing returns when you keep adding scorers. Their defensive disadvantage against other contenders roughly offsets their offensive advantage, and probably then some.

I’d agree with your packer analogy if it was one and done. But to outscore the nets 4 times will be damn near impossible

Even if the Packers played best of 7, they would almost certainly give up too many points in 4 of those games. Their terrible defense (and special teams, but there's no real analogy in the NBA for that) was just as reliable for setting your clocks to as their great offense, and the same goes for the Nets. The main difference is that some bad defenders are coasting and are capable of stepping it up for the playoffs in a way that doesn't really happen in the NFL, but that just doesn't apply to most of those guys.
Put it this way; all the Bucks have to do is hold the Nets below their average offensive rating, which is something a borderline top 5 defense should be able to do, while scoring well above their own average offensive rating against the Nets, which should be something a top-5 offense should easily be able to do. That alone gives the Bucks more points than the Nets. They remind of the Mavs era of Dirk, Nash, Finley, Dampier, Jamison, Van Exel, Tim Hardaway, Juwan, Raef, Stackhouse, Jason Terry, Van Horn, Antoine Walker, etc, except they don't even have ANY of the Josh Howard/Devin Harris type of all-around glue guy to at least balance them out a little - although they are admittedly even better on offense.

I said it the second he was drafted, but Terrance 2K Ferguson was the most obvious bust in that draft. He’s been one of the worst players in the league for a few years now.

If it ends up Lakers/Nets in the finals it will be the first time I don't watch one game.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The NBA will be using all their 'tricks' to get that to be the case, though I think they would settle for the Clippers making it.

If Austin Rivers to the Bucks is true, I've lost all respect for Horst. Rivers isn't a point guard, is one of the most inefficient players in the league, has a weak handle and can't play defense. Jeff Teague is the right move. Tell me what Rivers has that Sam Merrill doesn't.

It really makes you wonder about the qualifications of these so called “basketball experts” at the very least. Jeff Teague is OBJECTIVELY the right move over Austin Rivers. Obviously, the waiver wire is what it is, but I would rather we be publicly linked to a guy like Teague.

Rivers is another Forbes in that when he’s on he’s a flamethrower. Unplayable when he’s off. The Bucks just need to continue to build depth to afford them the luxury of sitting those guys when they aren’t hitting their shots.
The Bucks have multiple open roster spots now and the cap room to fill them so I’m not opposed to bringing him in.

Drummond will help LA but I think it's a pretty overrated pickup IMO. You want to talk about a guy who gets played off the floor in close games he's basically the blueprint.

I guess the rich get richer and the poor is just a feeder system. Not that I want Drummond. What the bucks have been linked to is bit underwhelming.

true , but atleast he gets it to a close game. With lbj and Davis , pretty formidable lineup.Baddy Chuck wrote:Drummond will help LA but I think it's a pretty overrated pickup IMO. You want to talk about a guy who gets played off the floor in close games he's basically the blueprint.

IMO he's no more important to a title team then DeAndre Jordan is to Brooklyn. Just don't think he's really that good. He's no longer on a team where him posting up for a like 50% shot is going to be a thing and he's pretty much just a pick and roll big body. It'll help but I don't think it's that good. His defense has also been trash forever.

Agree. I don't get the upset over this. He's not that good. Only reason he's going to LA is nobody wanted to trade for him. I doubt he'll have much more of a role that Javale or Dwight had on that Lakers team come playoff time. Davis will be closing at C in most games.

Both Drummond and LMA have more downside than upside.
