I think what SAS was saying is that if Lin really wanted to play, it would have happened -- which I believe.
This matter is not as 'cut and dried' as you're trying to make it seem. There were a number of articles postulating that Lin could return last season after the injury -- at least for some spot duty during the playoffs. One day after cutting and moving laterally on his surgically repaired left knee, New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin says he hopes to return to the court during New York's first-round series with the Miami Heat, possibly as soon as Game 4 on May 6.

Ultimately, we know that Lin ended up opting not to play. If you read between the lines, it is clear that there was at least some expectation that he was well enough to give it a go.
this is fun. every time a factual link is posted debunking your erroneous claims, you've ducked. multiple facts were cited proving stephen a lied, yet you continue to cite him as your only source.
lin stated multiple times he wanted to play, but his recovery did not go as planned. even from the same article, it was stated:
On Sunday, Lin noted that he felt "soreness" in his knee. He planned to stay off of it for the rest of the day and re-evaluate the knee on Monday. Lin seemed discouraged about the discomfort on Sunday, calling it a "setback."
of course, you left this "setback" part out to make it seem all was well and that he going to return the next day. disingenuous liar to say the least, but what else would you expect from someone who still believes stephen's proven lies?
