At this point, it's becoming clear he's too old to attract FA's to Dallas anymore. I expect next years Mavs team to really bottom out hard and be in contention for a Top 5 pick.

Nah, a healthy Dirk alone is worth probably 25 games, it would be a miracle if they make the playoffs though.

THunder
Spurs
Grizzlies
Clippers
Rockets
Warriors

Those are pretty much guaranteed playoff teams

Then you have

Blazers
Wolves
Nuggets
Lakers
Mavs

fighting for the last 2 spots

There's no way they can out-tank
Suns, Magic, Lolcats, Kings, Jazz, Sixers and Bucks barring a major injuri to Nowitzki

And then you have teams like Cavs, Pelicans, Celtics or Hawks that could throw away the season if they're hit by injuries or things don't start too bright.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

To be fair, I said that literally a month ago. A lot changed since I said that. I definitely don't think they'll be in contention for a Top 5 pick now. I could still see them in the lottery for sure, but not as high as I thought before.

I'm sure glad the Blazers didn't bother with Pek.

Looks like Luke Babbitt is off the market, signed with some Russian team. Totally not worth a thread, but I have a feeling someone will make one anyways.

What happened to the free agency thread? Is Not like the off season is over yet..

Anyways, fab melo just got waived. I'm not sure if we have the roster spot open, but he would be a cheap pickup off the wire and a third prospect for center. If one of our bigs goes down we'll be in deep doo doo.

Lillard/Williams/Watson
Matthews/McCollum/Barton/Crabbe
Batum/Wright/Claver
Aldridge/Robinson/Freeland
Lopez/Leonard

Soon to be waived - Harris

The Blazers already have 15 players under contract, technically 16 until they waive the Terrell Harris' unguaranteed contract. Not much reason for the Blazers to have a free agency thread any longer, although it can't be too far down the page since there hasn't been a lot of talk lately.

I have to imagine the Wolves are regretting resigning Budinger at this point. His knees sound trashed.

I don't know if his knees are trashed. The injury bug did bite the Wolves again by taking out a rotation player. Then again, the Wolves are still better off playing Budinger $5 million to sit on the bench injured than they would be paying Kirilenko $10 million to play. The Wolves are still going to be a better team unless the injury bug strikes again.

So the pre-season isn't going to be televised? That really sucks.. I wonder if there will be a way to watch online somehow?

Joel Freeland is ESPN's 441st best NBA player this year:

Thanks mono... I didn't figure he was ahead of Batum, but didn't figure he was behind Lopez.

It really makes me happy seeing Royce White as #500 out of 500.

Lets make this just the NBENFANT thread. Then I wont get called out for talking about Adams or other random observations from around the league.

Denver looks out of sync. Missing guys can be tough and Hickson ain't helping. Who said coaches don't matter?

Gobert: 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots in 20 minutes (only 1 TO and 1 PF)

We could have had this guy for a pick that we ended up selling to OKC.

I really liked Gobert in last years draft. I hated seeing him goto Utah.
