Defensively, Okeke's numbers stick out. He averaged 2.5 steals and 1.7 blocks per 40 minutes as a sophomore.

Back up PF was our biggest need IF we are resigning Ross and Vuc, so I'm ok.
The only problem I see is,back up PF is still our biggest need for the 1st half of the season next year.

This smells like they have a FA plan for wing/SG. We'll see.

I think we will get someone on FA or trade to fit our biggest need. Perimeter scoring.

Magic roster remains fundamentally broken with almost all salary and talent in front court with zero to show for at guard positions.

our back court depth relies on Fultz and his recovery..... that's extremely scary and I can almost guarantee this FO is going to bring back Briscoe or underwhelming unknown PG and say we addressed the issue in case Fultz doesn't work out.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

I still don't understand why we haven't got ntilikina with our 2 nd round instead of this cash.

Because he's one of the worst guards in the league despite making $5 million?

He didn't even had a chance to showcase his skills in NEW YORK CIRCUS.

I understand the franchise needs continuity thus we do not make moves to trade away our assets. But this team does need excitement to boost the confidence of the team. Hope we do well on FA. This draft is B grade to me. We could be more aggressive but I trust this FO.

If they're determined to just dump him for any second, maybe we still can. I'd absolutely take that shot-if only to see Evan screaming "I was open" in French

Stop. He played 21 mpg both seasons and averaged 34% fg. Despite getting those minutes he failed to crack the 1 point per shot mark both years.. not even close - ranked 483 in 2018 and 490 in 2019 in PPS. Even Fultz with one arm hit the 1 PPS mark. Jerian Grant and MCW can't score and they've never dropped below 1 PPS. Zero improvement from year to year. Frankie Cigarettes is a project. Briscoe and MCW would outplay him and they're bottom of the barrel. Waste of time and money.

They must really like okeke as a prospect to reach for him while injured. That has me intrigued, but I can't say I'm too excited about him at this point. It's all good though... this is the first year in a long time I didn't give a crap about the draft. Not going to get too high or low about a 16h pick...

That's it right there the last line. It's a mid first round pick not a lottery pick most players that come from the middle first are rotational/role players at best.

Somehow this kid was completely off my radar.

However, most of the draft grades say prior to the injury he was absolutely in the conversation for a mid-first rounder.

Analysts seem split on their grades. Some praise Orlando for being patient and going with their guy. Others are not so enthusiastic given the injury. But I don’t see anyone bashing Orlando based on the talent to pick spot ratio.

I personally would have preferred to try and add to our first playoff run in years with someone able to play next season. So it’s hard for me to be excited today but the reviews give hope.

Aren't we over the cap? How would we be able to absorb his contract?

Also, not very good to spend 15M on two PGs that you can't rely on (Fultz and Frank).
