Knicks Get Reddish per Woj

I was feeling good about the trade until E-balla, who apparently watched the guy play all the time, crapped all over it.

I mean, that's got to take some of the joy out of it, if a guy sees him all the time since he's in the same area, and thinks he's not "decent" or "ok" or "bit of a project" but thinks he sucks and is one of the worst players in the league, you have to at least consider the guy is not that good.

Hope he's good. It's the Knicks, so we'll probably be disappointed. Nothing ever really works out.

Y'all know I'll say a bunch of guys are good that don't pan out. Rarely do I say someone is absolute trash and they're good. I called Anthony Bennett being the biggest bust ever, Knox being the worst player in the league, and Cam is right there on that level of one of the worst players I've seen in an NBA jersey that got minutes.

The Knicks traded down in the 1st round and then used it for Cam, which seems unlikely to truly work, but then they drafted Grimes. So it doesn't matter. Kid is good.

He got solid minutes in Atlanta last year for a good team. Hell when they started playing him instead of Cam the team vastly improved.

True but like I said something had gone wrong. I think Hunter was injured, and almost all the minutes Cam and Solomon got would have gone to him instead. Grand scheme of things what the Knicks paid was fair market value for a young big wing with upside and sent the same player to a lesser degree back with a protected pick. Cam has upside and maybe the Knicks could help him reach it. He’s definitely more in line with recent picks like Frank and Knox than he is with guys like RJ, IQ, Obie, and Mitch. I actually think the Knicks should draft another wing this year as well. A rotation of good players at every position unless you have a top 5 in that position is what teams need to win these days. Especially in the era of COVID.

If the season ended today that pick conveys and we traded #20 for a 15th man because he's tall and was good in highschool.

I remember he had that slacker vibe/rep even during his HS recruitment on the VU boards...

Too good, too successful, too early. He thinks he's a natural star and it comes easy to him but it don't.

I started going into this in a post, but sort of lost my train of thought.

Macri and Cohen figured the Knicks have:

Rose/Kemba/McBride/Fournier/IQ/Burks/Grimes/RJ/Randle/Obi/Mitch(?)/Noel/Taj/ returning (did I miss anyone)

13 players. Knox was in the 14th slot, but slated to be gone
15 and 16 with two way players Sims and Samanic

17th player has been...I guess mostly Selden and now Arcidiacono

Arcidiacono is easy to get rid of. If Knox left, that's two very easy slots to fill
Now Reddish replaces Knox
They MIGHT have had Charlottes #1, Their own #1, and their own #2. There's a 2nd rounder from Charlotte, but it's basically nearly impossible to convey. So, potentially 3 picks, but probably 2.
And the last point, was that the Knicks had the large bi-annual MLE, up to 10 million, which teams nearly never NOT use, since it's a large $ size, decent player, and every OTHER year.

They still have to slot their #1, their 2nd rounder (maybe) and maybe the $10 million MLE

So, in a sense, maybe they traded what they MIGHT get if Charlotte was good enough for the 2022 #1 to convey (seems likely) and decided to convert it into Reddish

For slots 2022 #1 Knick pick, $10 million MLE and 2022 Knicks 2nd rounder, one slot will be where Selden/Arcidiacono was, and the 2nd rounder and potential $10 MLE will vie with Sims and Samanic for the last 2 spots.
