Both guys can finish around the rim really well. Bazz has more of a post game, but McLemore has the hops and speed to drive on just about anyone... I take McLemore every time, his handles aren't great but they aren't below average, and like I said he has shown that he does have capable handles, he just doesn't seem to use them often... (He has one heck of a nasty hes cross...)

I didn't make it over here but Mason Plumlee Beasted all on NC State the other night! If he keeps this up he may rise up the board and out of the range of our second pick.

Yea, that was pretty terrible

I didn't see it but it really doesn't bother me that much because he is compared to have a competitive drive like Kobe's so it is good that he got upset.

Just hate when we can't generate anything at the end of a game when teams take away a kemba or sessions drive to the basket.

A small note also is that Bazz is a true fresh, while Ben although wasn't allowed to play last yr he was allowed to practice.

I'd be pleased with either of them though.

The thing about that last tidbit is that among many scouts McLemore still has considered to have more potential. A lot consider Shabazz to be closer to a finish product that McLemore. And Ben is only 3 months older. Neither is really the type that's going to create much offense for themselves or others because neither has the best handle. Shabazz is a much better finisher around that basket than McLemore though and his post game is solid for a wing but the problem is when he gets to the NBA he won't have that advantage as much especially if he plays more SF than SG. Ben has potential though as a driver because of his exceptional fast first step for a SG and dribbling is one that improves quickly with repetition. Where things will be questioned with him is will he have the mentality to be a top scorer and try to score from everywhere, not just as a jump shooter.

I have them 2 and 3 behind Noel. I think they're the most sure fire contributers in the draft. Ben as a deadeye starting SG who gets about 15 a game on limited shots. Shabazz as a near 20 point scorer who might take more shots than he should. Both #3 options at worse.

Only thing about Ben is how well he will be able to finish in traffic and with contact from bigger players

That game hurt my soul. I swear at Cameron you can breath on someone wrong and get called for a foul. We always seem to get in early foul trouble there and our bigs have to play passive the rest of the game. He took full advantage of it. CJ Leslie was guarding him half the time, CJ is way too small, weak, and not that great of a defender. Howell was on him to, Howell is stronger than CJ but gives up a lot in height. We don't have a really decent defender that can physically match up with him, but we couldn't do much with him in either game.

Marcus Smart is growing on me as a prospect, hence him jumping into my top 5 last week. He's showing the potential that he could possibly become a real impact player when he take that step into the NBA.

Wiggins hung 57 and 13 the other day.

Can we please stop saying he might not be a fantastic player?

Marcus Smart final stats from todays win over Texas

23 points (6 of 12) 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals, 2 blocks.

He was 3 of 6 from behind arc and 8 of 10 from charity stripe.

he is looking like the complete player we could use from the two guard position.

Marcus Smart is beginning to look more like a playmaking two-guard to me as well instead of a big point guard. Depending on how Ben McLemore close out this game versus Oklahoma after halftime I might have to put Smart ahead of him on my board.

I'm kind of amazed at how highly Smart is being spoken of considering he routinely has poor scoring games against low level competition.
Humble yourself.

He always shows up for the big games when his team needs him the most. He has a few low scoring games, but his team won, so I do not mind it that much. He has scored in single digits in only 4 games and they won each game easily.

McLemore is starting to come alive down during the last 10 minutes of this Kansas game.

McLemore was invisible when Kansas needed a play to be made down the stretch. He seems to me to be a great system player if you have guards that move the ball, bigs that set solid screens, and a coach that's excellent with X's and O's but he's yet to show me that he can create something out of nothing. The commentators were mentioning that he doesn't have much of a left hand dribble.

It took Ray Allen a couple years before he learned how to take over a game. McLemore is going to make an immediate impact in the NBA and avg. 15-18 PPG as a rookie starter. That's why most draft boards have him 1 or 2.

The college game is slow and with his athleticism he's going to score points in transition in the NBA and spread the floor as a sharp shooter. The Bobcats still don't really have a 3-pt threat who will play here throughout the rebuild. Gordon is short term and he doesn't play defense.

I think McLemore is much needed on this roster.
