They have nothing. They are flirting with luxury tax so this Miami and Butler thing seems unrealstic without some creative S&T scenario.

That pick can get us a player that will be good when Tatum is being courted by NY and LA and deciding if he wants to stay in Boston.
Horford may not even be good as soon as next season. Father time claims everyone, and he looking at Horford's ability to move side to side as a 33 year old big man and saying "hmm you've had more time than most already".
100% this.
Ill give a first to Brooklyn. I wont give them a future unprotected lottery pick.

Nets will win the press conference, Knicks will be but of all jokes. But when you look at it, Nets just went all in on a loonie/chemistry killer in Kyrie, and KD - a guy that's gonna miss a year with the worst injury a basketball player can have. I could easily see that to turn into a disaster. Knicks will at least have flexibility and a high draft pick.
Flexibility for what? Least Nets upside is a championship.
I said it was a hot take![]()
I mean, I get why Nets took the gamble. I would be shocked if it worked.
Flexibility? Take a salary back (Whiteside, Teague) and get an asset for it. Have an option to add max guy in 20 or 21 while you develop your young guys (Know, Robinson, Smith, RJ) plus another top pick next year. Things change so fast in this league, having options is good.

Weren't they saying that Leonard requested that only Jeannie Buss and Magic Johnson be in the meeting? Who is Pelinka going to deliver a sales pitch to if he's not in the meeting?

That's what I read a while ago from the Lakers reddit guy (RDAmbition) and it makes sense with Butler likely leaving.
If true, Al is leaving the Cs to go to a division rival and backup Embiid and Harris. Is this just about the money or is he pissed at the Celtics?
