Middleton making it is fantastic. First time in my Bucks fandom where one of our guys got in because of his well deserved prior rep, even if he wasn't necessarily having the strongest season compared to other players. We deserve this one.

Quick, trade Middleton for Lamelo.
An Allstar for a non-allstar......MJ will like it.
Seriously....how did Melo not get in?

To be fair he got the nod over Bledsoe when the latter easily could have had it a couple years ago. He’s certainly not underrated anymore. Jury’s out on whether he’s overrated, this postseason may bare things out.

I'm beyond shocked that Middleton got in. And devastated for Jrue.
Lowe said position was almost irrelevant for ASG bench. Thought Jrue was the key in taking out CP3 and winning the title, was the 2nd best player on Team USA in claiming the gold, and has comfortably been our 2nd best player this year and is an advanced stats darling.

Olynyk is a much better defender than Muscala. Neither are very good rebounders.

Picks all look pretty reasonable to me.
Herro is rocking a .532 TS%. He definitely doesn't belong.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Khris an All-star
I was thinking of a possible path to trading for Barnes. We know that Kings want a young player and already like DDV. We know that they would also want at least one FRP which we don't have. What about this though.
Bucks in Barnes, Pangos, Davis
Bucks out Lopez, DDV, Connaughton, Nwora
Cleveland in Connaughton, Nwora
Cleveland out Pangos, Davis, 2022 FRP (top 20 protected, converts to 2022 HOU and SAS SRPs)
Sacramento in Lopez, DDV, CLE 2022 FRP (top 20 protected, converts to 2022 HOU and SAS SRPs)
Sacramento out Barnes
* This might feel light for Sacramento so I would be open to add whatever incentives Bucks have like a 2022 FRP swap with the CLE FRP (nothing fancy, could be a 1-2 spots trade up) and the 2025 IND SRP. Wouldn't say no to an extra SRP and another trash min player coming in from Sacramento.
Bucks end up consolidating Pat's and Donte's minutes to Barnes who is bigger and can provide more in the forward positions were their depth is extremely weak. Something like this could work better in the playoffs than what they currently have.
Holiday (38)/Hill (10)
Allen (28)/Matthews (10)/Hill (10)
Middleton (38)/Matthews (10)
Barnes (28)/Giannis (20)
Giannis (20)/Portis (28)
* Pangos/Hood/Semi/Thanasis/Davis will battle for the 9th-10th spots which I know is not too sexy, but maybe this can be fixed through the buyout market. I have Bucks keeping two spots open.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Khris an All-star
Giannis, Khris, and Jrue should all be All-Stars and anybody that says they don't deserve it after NBA championship & years of being one of the best teams in the league is just crazy. Khris has always gotten more disrespect from his home fanbase than he does from the rest of the league, it really is weird the persistence the Middleton axe grinders have since they shut up for a little while but never go away with knives always ready for the first sign of struggle. I for one am always against loser team players making the ASG over winners on contending teams, if you can't win the numbers mean dick ****.
The issue at the 5 isn't the lack of a stretch 5, Bobby is honestly just as good offensively and a lot more of pure shooter but rather the lack of a rim protector, a big body to absorb the blow's so Giannis have to, boxing out. Guys like Olynyk, Muscala, and lesser degree Theis aren't going to give us anything we don't already have. I think our best and cheapest realistic option is probably Robin Lopez, he'll give us what we're lacking with Brook out. Nobody we have is going to slow down Embiid besides Giannis, this has been a playoff match up I've been looking forward to for years as I think it would be a real battle of wills between those two.

No problem with Midds making it but Holiday has been #2 this season when on the court. Should've gotten the nod.
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS

I've been a top 5 Khris supporter here. I'm not saying he didn't deserve it, just saying it is far from his best season and J'Rue deserved it more. Still very happy he got the nod.

I think he's a better offensive player than his advanced stats would suggest, and a better defender than he sometimes gets credit for, but put it like this: how many all-stars can he defend effectively, and how many can defend him? I think the answers are "literally not one" and "almost all".
He's definitely not one of the top 3 players on his own team.

With all the talk about needing another big (we do), I actually wonder if they maybe think about moving Donte for a better scoring combo-guard. The fact that we're 29th in bench scoring just makes the fact we let Boogie go even more frustrating.

Pelicans apparently are buyers at the deadline.
Do we think they might be interested in Donte?
And / or would the Bucks be interested in Hernangomez or anyone else in New Orleans?

He single-handedly murdered DavidDunn, so there's that too.
