Another way to frame the Kyrie discussion though is he has not meaningfully contributed to a successful playoff outcome since 2017. That’s seven years! That’s an incredibly, incredibly long time for a player of his calibre. It takes a perfect storm of bad injury luck (18, 20, 21) AND off court issues (22/23 I will put down to that) AND generally playing like a checked out bum in both 2019 and 22. It’s a great story and we all knew he had the talent but let’s not play hindsight and act like it wasn’t a huge risk to take by trading for him in 2023.

He has basically been bad when he hasn't played with a top-end decision maker and good when he has. This year is also different in that he's not a big negative defensively for whatever reason.

Whoa didn't expect this. I do like the idea of Rondo as an AC honestly, but just a bit concerned that he'll let his ego get in front of him when it comes to Xs and Os if he disagrees with the HC.

Agreed, he has alot of pride and ego as we have seen over the years. Yea he gotta start in a lesser role to start out with his coaching.

Rondo is notorious among ex-teammates for breaking off schemes to chase opponent weaknesses but signalling none of his teammates beforehand. How this translates to coaching is as good as anyone's guess but his teammates seemed to hate that trait.Communication might not be a strength.

I lowkey believe AD and Lebron wants a former player they can influence xs and os with. 2 years of Darvin Ham is to blame but it also misses the need for an experience head who knows how to manage what he sucked at, tempo /momentum managment.

Thought everyone knew. Even before the political stuff he's a guaranteed miss for one ru every 2 years, 3 years max.

It's also not a coincidence after bouncing around playing with countless MVPs he's back to being a "playoff killa" beside the one guy stylistically closest to Lebron. Say what you want but contrary to hipster belief the table setting floor raiser will always be the gold standard for playoff success.

Now that I can digest the post-season after my beloved Timberwolves were sent through the Luka Meat-Grinder...

How lucky was Denver against the Lakers? 2 game winners from Murray.

Series probably should have went to 7, but Denver was already unlucky anyways with the poor state of Murray's health so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Right, but the point is that Murray was hurt, so looking at the production is crazy.

Murray was a sub-50% TS% in the series yet his 2 Game Winners.

When has a player ever shot so poorly in a series yet had 2 Game Winners? That's unheard of.

How would you guys tackle building this team?

Feels like we need to play to our strengths and be big (but also flexibility to play smaller)

Need a big who can shoot it next to AD for when we play a team like Den

Turner
Brook Lopez
KAT??
Vuc?
Bobby Portis? (likely too thin)
Naz Reid (dont see him being available though, KAT is more likely to be moved)

Lower end guys:
Isaiah Stewart
Duop Reath

Wonder if we could go Rui, Vincent, JHS, #17, and some combo of picks and swaps for KAT

Reaves, Christie, Bron, AD, KAT
Cp3??, ?, Prince?, Vando, Vet min C

Use the mle on a SG or a SF

Charania] The Los Angeles Lakers are zeroing in on JJ Redick as the frontrunner for franchise’s next head coach, league and industry sources say.

What are we feeling about this?

David Adelman is the guy I want

JJ as the lead assistant

It's funny. LBJ knew what he doing all along?

Cant be worse than Ham......right?

Better than Borrego though, Jay Triano was the hornets offenive coordinator. Borrego seems useless, but at least has some experience

There were never many good options anyways so I rather go with unknown JJ than known trash

CP3, Reaves, LeBron, Davis
Prince, Vando
Bronny

I think that's what I'm expecting to be on the Lakers.

The rest is a mystery IMO. But certainly a starting 4/5 that can be backup 5 makes a ton of sense.
