Every team in the league is going to own our pick at this rate.

If D'Lo has a break out season and the front office strikes out in 2018 free agency, the fans will be calling for Magic, Rob, and Jeanie's heads like no tomorrow.

Don't do this to me.

Question:

Hypothetically if George does go to the Celtics, or Cavs, or any team, and signs an extension, will ya'll be content with having not traded Ingram or will ya'll regret it at that point?

Note: I'm not saying ya'll should trade Ingram for George, who could very likely sign with ya'll anyway. I do not blame ya'll for not wanting to make that trade and understand it completely. I'm more just curious if that thought process would change if George were to re-sign elsewhere?

Move on with the young core and see who else we could get via FA. I love PG's desire to be a Laker but he isn't worth Ingram. No way in hell.

I think we should all be resigned to the fact that DLo is going to put up really good numbers next season.

Well, Magic and Rob have already failed. They traded DLo to dump salary and to trade for George, it looks like the momentum is gone and we are no longer possible destinations for PG13 this year.

I've been thinking about that, and to me it just depends on what Ingram ends up being. I personally think the world of him, and think that him paired up with Ball is going to be the next dynamic duo. And while I think the world of Paul George and believes hes a top 10-15 player, I don't see him as a generational talent like LeBron or KD where you would trade anyone for. I personally think Ingram will have a Paul George type stature in the NBA in a few years. So I'm OK on missing out on Paul George because I think Ingram will be that good. However, if he doesn't pan out, then its an epic flop.

If this happens the Buss family should consider selling the team. They really won't recover from that big of a blunder. I would have no problem laying down my fan flag either. They better know something behind the scenes we don't because of how it looks right now they are still in the wishful thinking delusional mode.

They will likely never sell the team.

That's fine I wouldn't either but if they blow this rebuild chasing after Lebron at age 33 they are going to be the Knicks in the coming years.

If we suddenly upped and offered Ingram, we'd lose our leverage any future trade negotiations and GMs would walk right over us knowing with enough pressure we'll fold. When you draw a line in the sand you better be sure to not cross it.

i wouldn't worry to much guys, all these trades for george just sound like smoke screens from kp. one week it's boston, the next week it's cleveland. i haven't heard one legit report of george backing off his stance of hitting free agency in 18', or that he's just a rental for anyone besides the lakers.

Until Woj states PG is traded to "X" team AND has signed a 3 year extension, everything to me is bullsh@t and smoke screen.

What makes people so sure the smokescreen isn't the lakers and that he'll only be coming to LA during free agency?

If his goal was to force Indiana to trade him right now so he doesn't waste another year, and to get traded to a team that doesn't get too weakened by the trade....saying he's only going to sign with LA would be the perfect smokescreen. Both lowers his value and gets him traded immediately.

Better question... Who cares?

The main attraction about PG, is that he's from LA and has expressed interest in coming here. We don't really need him that much and there would be better fits for our cap space.
So at this point, if George wants to sign long term somewhere else, it's just more money we can use on a player that actually fits between Ball and Ingram in a starting lineup.

And no way LeBron comes here without at least 2 or 3 guys he wants to play with... If PG is one of them in 2018, that's great, but if not, I'm sure there will be equally interesting players on their way too...

And who knows... We could strike out in 2018... But even if we do, we still have ball and Ingram, and by that time they should be working themselves into something special.

Frankly, I think a Lakers trade for PG is probably off the table at this point... I mean what can we trade?

So if he wants to wait for next year and sign as a FA, great. If not, oh well.
