is he the same guy that helped Dirk with his shooting?

They might get to keep their top 3 protected pick at this rate. As long as the ping pong balls dont go against them, they look like one of the worst teams easily.
That would be my plan now if I were in their shoes and they completely strike out in FA. Jeannie just about to take over.

Put Thompson at backup C and sign someone like Lin to hold down the starting PG spot until Grant is ready (which I think he will be very soon).
I cringe every time I see guys penciling him in as our starting PG. Could be serviceable off the bench though.
no.
he's a starting pg.
he was injured last year and if he wasnt our fortunes would have been much different.

The HUGE problem with signing Tobias next offseason instead of this one is that his starting numbers explode with the cap next summer.
Summer 2015: $15.8 million max
Summer 2016: $21.0 million max
He was a perfect storm of youth, talent, production, and value this offseason if some team had figured out how to pry him away. Props to Orlando for creating enough doubt to keep anyone from really trying.

Didn't he close out on the shooters better than usual (albeit which is not saying much) that series?

Lopez: High IQ, Good defender
Grant: High IQ, acc all defensive
Afflalo: High IQ, still known as a good defensive player.
Porzingis: high IQ, shot blocking ability, stretches the floor.
I am happy. For once, We are building a team with complimentary players. They all play defense. They also all compent each other. With Lopez, Melo can play at 4 and Porz can as well. We need another big man, but no more clutter. We are building a team with spacing. And we are building a team with defense first. I am cool with it!

I love him at that 1st number, but he can get to steppin on the 2nd one. It sucks too, 15 mil is very good value for him...oh well

Not true. Devin Harris played over him in the fourth quarter because Calderon couldn't guard anyone. I remember that series. Nice try though.

How can KJ contribute on off when he shoots less than 40% from the field and less than 30% from three. I sick of people wanting to pay a rookie second rounder who didn't get any burn the second half of the season 3.5 mil for what? put back dunks?

How else do you propose the team add enough athleticism to compete in today's NBA?

I think we will be pleased everyone. For once I cant say well how is this team going to play together. It seems we have the pieces right to be fluid at least

he was injured all the year right?
calderon cant defend any guards in the league. even he scores 20ppg i dont care he'll let more.
calderon recovered and played other games in the season. he constantly sucked.
in the other hand d-leaguer galloway defend opponent guards very well and make us competitive in some games.
also shved comes as sg and played better than calderon with point guard duties.
shved defended perimeter decently thanks to his height advantage.
shved's penetration was essential for TRIANGLE.
he scored as a 1st option of the team. His play making was remarkable too.
Also Grant is old enough to start in NBA. he's not rookie 19 year old rookie.
He can start or galloway can start.
calderon can be only role player like beno udrih and i'm %100 percent sure beno udrih played better than calderon last year. calderon should get vet min.

We have Lopez to cover for Calderon's deficiencies on defense. He's used to it, having covered for Lillard.
