Isn't Bradley a FA?

I don't think he is a FA until 2020.

I looked it up. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/memphis-grizzlies/avery-bradley-6901/

He has one more year on his deal but they have this option:

Contract Notes:
2019 $2 million guaranteed, fully if not waived on or before 7/3/19

If Memphis did that trade then it means they like Dunn enough to take on two years of Felicio.

bummer. If they waive him, I'd look at Bradley over some FA guards we've been discussing...might come cheaply.

I consider random theoretical trades mostly a futile exercise, but sometimes I can't help myself.

This trade idea is related to the Holiday rumors but I still felt like idea belonged here since it's unlikely to even be a possibility because part of it is that we get the first pick and draft Zion.

Maybe I'm miscalculating some value here, but here is an idea I came up with.

Atlanta trades the 5 and 6 pick for Lauri.

New Orleans trades Jrue in exchange for the 6th pick, Dunn and Felicio (I think it's fair that they would need to take on Felicio considering a much younger Jrue was previously traded for the 6th pick).

The Bulls send out Lauri, Dunn and Felicio for Jrue and Garland (a big part of the motivation of this trade is because I'm really high on Garland).

The Bulls get the point guard for the present and hopefully for the future and the beauty of Jrue and Garland is they could play together just fine for years.

I would be sad to see Lauri go and am really high on him, but considering the respective trade values of Otto, Lauri and WCJ and their fits with Zion and I think it would make the most sense to capitalize on Lauri's value (that said, I'm also fine being patient, signing a vet point guard, and seeing what we have before making a move, but sometimes it is beneficial to make a move before everyone learns what you have).

By sending out Dunn, Lauri and Felicio, I would imagine we would still have enough space to sign a quality 3rd big.

Our starters would likely be

Jrue
Lavine
Porter
Zion
WCJ

then our main bench guys

Garland
Hutch
big from free agency

We would still have Arch (I want him back), Val and maybe Lopez, etc.

I think that group could be a pretty nasty combination of defense, athleticism, shooting, slashing and rebounding.

Obviously getting Zion makes every team's future look a lot better though.

I’d still rather have Conley.

Avery looked like a shell of his former self all year. He was downright terrible for LA. So, yes, safe to say he would come cheap.

I think he has game left at 28...obviously returning from injury plus new teams made him inefficient, but I would try to get him using part of the MLE...something like 4/$25 could be a win.

He put up solid numbers in Memphis (14 games), but I don't now how his defense was.

Vince Carter wants to play another season. How about signing him as a veteran mentor, back up reserve player?

Would rather have him than TLC or Wayne Selden.

Who's the single best player in the league that you guys think we could get in trade for this package?

Our pick (let's say #4)
Dunn
Felicio
Hutchison
Valentine

Maybe Jrue if NOP goes for a full rebuild and Conley if not. Maybe you can hit CHA up for a Kemba S&T or something. (I'm assuming you guys want a PG)

As for Avery Bradley, he did play well for us and his defense was up and down. But beware the stats of March. I think some of it was him getting pretty high usage and other teams not being able to game plan for him since they hadn't really seen him with Memphis and he had sucked all year so him shooting should have been a good thing for them. If you guys really do want him you could probably add Memphis's 2nds to Felicio and get Avery in return.

I would aim high for Beal and include Lavine.
Lamelo will be a future superstar Bull. Book it. Lavar for president!

With monty Williams going to the Suns they might be a player for AD.

TJ Warren, Josh Jackson, Mikal Bridges and a couple of picks (not this year's) for him might get it done

Ja
Booker
Oubre
AD
Ayton

plus i'm pretty sure they'd have a lot of cap space and im sure a few good FAs wouldn't mind playing there. Two good FA play under williams Righ now in Bulter and Tobias harris.

why would AD want that? he wants rings in next 5 years, not catching up playoffs

WE SHOULD GO HARD after AD, we have assets.. I would include Lauri, WCJ and 1st pick, unless Zion

So you think you're getting AD for a rotation player (Warren), a bust (Jackson), another rotation player (Bridges) and none of your actual talent (Ja, Ayton, or Booker), plus a few future picks? Come on man.

Are you forgetting there are 28 other teams that can also make offers? Even if there weren't the Pels would laugh in your face.

I think the Suns could do it. Let's say their pick is #3

#3, Johnson, Milw 2020 pick, 2021 Suns pick (top 3 protected), JJackson for AD?

What does that do for either party? Get a Phoenix back to the playoffs one time, before they lose him. And numerous assets on top of that used to acquire him. And it doesn't benefit AD either, who wants to play for a title, not be put back in the exact situation he's trying to get out of. Its literally a lose-lose.
